Happy boxing day!

KTV with the gang yesterday was absolutely crazy! didn't know singing while standing up could be so much more fun than while sitting down. =P

Honey Bee gave a Mont Blanc cardholder for x'mas... =) although i was eyeing a braun buffel one (to match the wallet which i would eventually get. wonder if braun buffel got extra discount during post-x'mas period?) And got a few new small bags - including 2 Naraya ones... what a coincidence. =P

Met Honey Bee's close frens today for x'mas dinner. his fren's baby is so cute! there's just something about babies... must be the way they look at everything so wide-eyed and innocently. oh yar... kenna grilled too. =P and played scrabble on an ancient travel set! pretty good games except that everyone was quite competitive and took a long time to come up with words.

Didn't catch the reunion carol session this year. 1st time in 7 years that i haven't done so. means i haven't met Nelly Belly at all this year! kind of miss carolling... "Pa da da da..."

Revived!

Finally a new post. =P

Amongst these, visited honey bee's relatives in M'sia. was quite spontaneous but nice. got to noe honey bee's family better and vice versa. And i still haven't visited KL. =P

In other news, may be travelling a lot more in the next two months. spending valentine's day in overseas with the Boss. which isn't that bad except that the place we're gg is expected to be really cold.

Gotta do duty tmr... sigh... at least managed to get half day on Tues - X'MAS SHOPPING!!!

While I was at Macs, Prog Booklet I/C smsed me. Noting that I was lucky that day, he requested for 6 random numbers between 1 and 45. Told him to buy my birthday or HP number.

1 hr ago: "Eh. the last 4 digits of your handphone won starter le. but i never buy! T_T"

he could have won $2.5k with just $10. =P

The Sonnet

Deliberate Gentle Love Dreamer (DGLDf)

Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?

Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They're conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that's okay, because you're very choosy with your affections anyway. You'd absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.

Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You're already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there's no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.

You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.

ALWAYS AVOID: The 5-Night Stand, The False Messiah, The Hornivore, The Last Man on Earth

CONSIDER: The Loverboy

Something has happened!

Oh look, a delicious biscuit is on the floor. You bend down to pick it up, and spin around - somebody has stolen 216 NP from you while you were distracted!

The delicious biscuit turns out to be a choco-strawberry techo cookie worth more than 1000 NP. Yes, still playing neopets. =P

What kind of person are you?

You are an outgoing and cheerful person. Although you get frustrated sometimes, you get through hard times easily and are joyful again.Your friendly personality makes you attractive in the eyes of the opposite sex, but this makes your spouse feel insecure. Your lack of emotion is a disadvantage, but your candor has made you popular.Friends of your gender find it hard to understand you because of your innocent thinking. But this is your advantage as it attracts members of the opposite sex who have the same personality as you.

Amici

The word means "boyfriends, friends" according to an online italian-english dictionary. Apt description.

Last night i went to a restaurant of that name with ASN and ME. We were going to celebrate our first paychecks but SEA and ANZP couldn't come cos they had work to do... So i ended up out w the other 2. Can't seem to find a time when all of them are free.

So these two guys are the Beer-Drinker and the Wine-Drinker. Was quite funny to hear them talk about opposite likes. Beer-Drinker suggests next time go Chinatown for claypot fish head, Wine-Drinker would be talking about which wine to order... But overall, we kept talking about work and anything else that wasn't about work, would lead back to work. Otherwise, the 2 would be talking abt the Arts fac...

It was a good dinner. would have liked to try the tiramisu. Kind of weird to be dining w 2 guys in such a cosy restaurant cos it was neither a date nor a group outing. Hopefully can find a time when everyone can meet up together. =)

Later gotta go back to office and work... Sigh.

Thursday, July 21, 2005

Sigh

Got cancelled again. -_-

My office is at the ground floor of the building. This morning, when i bent down to pick up something i had dropped on the floor, i found a millipede crawling around. Millipedes don't harm people so i picked it up with a piece of paper and brought it out to the lawn.

As i was flinging the millipede off, i found the gardener staring at me. He walked over when i flung the millipede off. So i pointed at it, and HE BRUSHED IT ASIDE AND SMASHED IT. -_-

Caught Ed's group at Esplanade today. Sounding great as usual...

A male confessional

recommend that u guys read this blog: http://paper-windmills.blogspot.com. belongs to a fren of mine who writes quite well actually. =) found his latest post really entertaining. even his comments too. lol.

Scrabble! =)

i love playing scrabble but not that competitive that i'ld go to the library to borrow books on acceptable 2 letter works in scrabble.

so finally found a friend who was willing to play w me. =) so i lugged my standard sized scrabble board to suntec and we sat at Starbucks and played while drinking ice blended strawberry and cream and latte. really should make it a weekly thing cos otherwise i'm just really bored at home when The Gang doesn't meet up. AND I LOST! was leading by quite a bit at the start... but i think i got a bit complacent towards the mid and my opponent got the J, Q and Z - power letters. but it was a good game, cos we criss crossed the board, formed 2 words w just 4 tiles a few times, had a few 5-6 letter words too! =)

and i'm quite amazed that my life sci buddies are all free on 30th! except our dear LSR fan who has er hu class right smack in the mid of the day so i guess we'll have to start taking photos ard 9 or 10 then eat lunch so that she can get to her class.

tuition later...

Episode VII

the girls are finally all married!

Mrs Bree Jones - married Johnson Jones (prof; grandma angela's 1st or 2nd love)
Mrs Gabrielle Lawson - married Mitch Lawson (fireman)
Mrs Susan Deppissee - married Leo Deppisse (gardener)

all three got married on the same day, within 5 min of each other, and took the same limo to their honeymoons. =)

then... Gabi got pregnant first. gave birth to a Julie Lawson, baby girl with orange eyebrows (must be from Gabi's dad, Ray). Susan got pregnant second and gave birth to Mike Deppissee, baby boy *FINALLY broke the curse of daughters!* with black eyebrows. Bree got pregnant third, but don't think she'll be able to give birth (already 1 day overdue!) cos the game restricts the number of ppl in the house to maximum 8! I guess the 3 sisters will have to split up...

the house is so crowded! i don't even remember who's who's husband! i think i saw Leo kiss Gabi *gasps* or was it Susan? will this be the start of another scandalous relationship in the house? will Johnson Jones continue to see Grandma Angela? stay tuned!

KY

My Asst Director, KY, is a funny guy. really. today he and DSO A were talking abt taking leave on 8th Aug (Nat Day eve). I cover KY's work when he's away so they popped over to my cubicle (next to KY's) to ask if i'ld be ard. I said I would and we got confused abt when the Nat Day Observance Ceremony (NDOC) (4th Aug) was. *my fault* =P so the following conversation was held thinking that the NDOC was on 8th.

DSO A: then u won't be able to watch her sing.

KY: i will give u my full support on the rehearsal!

Me: cannot! must be there in person!

DSO A: Aiyah... on that day, i print a life size photo of him and hold up lar.

Me: cannot! then cannot see u (DSO A) liao!

KY: photo hor... will bend... *KY slouches to imitate what the life size photo would look like if it was not supported on a board*

couldn't stop laughing when i recounted the incident to two of my other colleagues. =P

Pink as a lobster today, peel like an onion tmr.

Yes, finally went cycling today! 2 HOURS UNDER THE HEAT OF THE MIDDAY SUN. the nick says it all. lost my balance and fell down (yes, very klutzy of me). just a little scratch on my right knee (where i landed on) but no bleeding. However, 10 hours later, i realised that i got a little bump on my left thigh. must have hit the handle of the bike when i fell. 20cent-sized bruise right now, but will prob develop to >50 cent size tmr. -_-

went shopping *FINALLY*! bought 3 tops - well... in effective 2, cos the 3rd was to wear inside one of them. Yes aki, i should stop buying too many shirts! should try to keep a lookout for nice knit tops or something. they ran out of size so i had to settle for a 3rd choice colour, which isn't that bad except that i prefer the purple and the pink (although pink would look ultra sweet).

after that, we headed to spinky's place for our monthly dose of SNTGD! SO FUNNY!!! laughing uncontrollably, and as usual, laugh till i cried, and spinky went "ARGH! GREENIE!" and hit me with a cushion. =P we really should do this more often!

then the STOOPID bus! SPEEDING LAR! never stop for me although i was just 3m away from the bus stop. -_____- had to wait another 20 min b4 the bus came, and this one was speeding too, so had to hang on to the metal bar for support even though i was seated. =P

i think my left arm will ache tmr - feels a bit sore. and the pelvic bone is still aching from the bicycle seat. we should switch to blading next time - butt won't ache that much, unless we keep falling and landing on it. haha...

strong influence...

i think i influenced my 29 yr old colleague to become more klutzy and childish... =P

today, he accidentally spilt coffee over himself n his keyboard (klutzy!), then asked me to lean forward to see the coffee stains on his keyboard then he pushed my head down! hmmph.

today was a relatively slow day at work...

sleepy. what should i wear tmr? find something that doesn't need to be ironed...

Get to know yourself better

This quiz is quite accurate for me... Kind of reminds me of the kind ur friends would ask u in sec sch, i.e. walk down a forest, what's the first animal u see/ on the table there's a jar - half full or half empty etc...
http://quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education

Education is less important than the real world out there, away from the classroom. Deep inside you want to start working, earning money and living on your own.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

my friend is experiencing quarter-life crisis of a sort, love life and career... Why don't ppl wanna get married and have kids? Fine if u really don't like kids and don't wanna have any, but marriage... Why would ppl not wanna get married if they really love/wanna be with each other? sigh... hope everything works itself out.

on the other end of the spectrum, found out that one of my friends is expecting! CONGRATULATIONS!!! and two of my friends FINALLY got together. Was quite obvious there was something between them from quite some time ago actually... =P

“HOW BAD IS YOUR TEMPER ACCORDING TO YOUR HOROSCOPE?”

I think this is quite true... haha... [note: long post. 3 posts today!]

ARIES MARCH 21 – APRIL 20
Nothing seems to ruffle you more than a lack of discipline, disloyalty and decorum. But Arians are also known to go into a rage very easily when challenged. Those of you who have been on the receiving end of the Aries temper know that if not calmed down they can even get violent. But one thing is certain if the opponent remains calm and does not react to their outburst, Arians cool down very fast. They are also the first to apologies, which makes them easier to forgive.

TAURUS APRIL 21 – MAY 20
You are generally quiet and have control over your emotions. It is difficult to predict what will upset you, so when you do lose your cool, people don’t know how to react. Your temper is like that of a raging bull, and anyone trying to pacify you will be the first one to get a verbal bashing. You generally get upset when you are concerned or when people accuse you of doing something wrong. You also hate being reminded about mistakes you’ve made in the past. You also have the potential to be terribly vindictive if rubbed the wrong way.

GEMINI MAY 21 – June 29
You are recognized by your cheerful disposition and your jovial nature is easily susceptible to anger. In fact, you are the best person to have around when there is an ugly scene at a party you can bring the warring factions together quite diplomatically. But when you lose cool, you yell and scream and will not listen to reason. You must have the last word in a wordy duel. Your capacity to argue aggressively is matched only by your seductive charm.

CANCER JUNE 21 – JULY 21
Considering how charming, caring and kind you are, you dislike unpleasant scenes, much less creating one yourself. You have great tolerance and rarely get provoked into losing your temper. If someone is unreasonable or trying to create trouble, you are more likely to walk away quietly. But that does not mean you do not have a temper. When angry, in your effort to control your emotions, you tremble, your hands get sweaty and sometimes you fumble for words. Tears roll down your eyes easily and the opponent is touched by your innocence and will seek an apology immediately.

LEO JULY 22 – AUGUST 21
If anyone has total control over their emotions, it is you. But then, you can be described as stiff, cold and uncaring. You are known to lack spontaneity but you really don’t care about opinions. You don’t like to create scenes and will never accept invitations to a party where you suspect the presence of an unruly lot. But your very presence seems challenging to some and they take vicarious pleasure in your disquiet. When angry you can use critical language. A dressing down can humiliate your opponent, causing a strain between both of you forever.

VIRGO AUGUST 22 – SEPTEMBER 21
Most of you are gentle and have full control over your emotions but those of you given to temper tantrums can certainly get violent. When see things with rage, you yell and shout and tend to break things lying close at hand. You can even harm yourself by banging your hands on a glass top table or wall. You should never get into any argument, for you are a sore loser. You feel that others are trying to persecute you and don’t quite respect your opinions. When hurt, you can also hold grudges forever.

LIBRA SEPTEMBER 22 – OCTOBER 22
Did someone say that you are the charmers of the zodiac? Well, it’s true. Few have ever seen you ruffled or angry. You are very conscious of your image, and you believe that anger distorts your face and personality. You also think you are above things like anger. But wait before you get into self-congratulatory mood. Your family or those very close to you know you better. You have an unmatched temper amongst all the zodiac signs, and what makes it worse is your capacity to justify it.

SCORPIO OCTOBER 23 – NOVEMBER 21
Of course you don’t lose your cool. But your very demeanour (manner) projects haughtiness (arrogance, pride), pride and grand disdain (disregard) for lesser mortals (human). Others are often found saying that anger sits on your nose and you are raring to give your piece mind to the first person that try to be funny with you. You are selective in the choice of your friends, and have a low tolerance for the superfluous (extra) types. Your tongue-lashing (attack) is generally in a soft hissing tone for when you scream, your voice tends to get shrill and loud and you do hate drawing attention to yourself! When upset, you are angrier with yourself for having shown weakness, for the last thing that Scorpio wants to show is being out of control.

SAGITTARIUS NOVEMBER 22 – DECEMBER 20
You are insensible and generally have no complete control over your emotions. You do get angry quickly and others marvel at your anger levels even when provoked. Actually, you get tongue-tied when angry and you will remove your anger waiting for the other person to calm down. Then you will reason with your opponent and convince the other person in a very gentle manner that the whole thing was just his mistake. You’re also likely to totally sever ties with someone when you’re upset with them.

CAPRICORN DECEMBER 21 – JANUARY 19
Few will believe that a hardcore practical and materialistic person like you is capable of sensitivity and genuine emotions. You project a hard exterior but are actually very sensitive, a trait you successfully hide from others. You can see thing with anger but will not betray your feelings. But then, there are times that even you cannot control your temper. Under such circumstances you can shout and scream, more with frustration at the situation than with anger at any particular person. Your outbursts can shock others and can make them feel guilty too.

AQUARIUS JANUARY 20 – FEBRUARY 18
You are noble and kind and dislike losing control over your emotions. It is very rare for you to get angry. You are also the pacifier in situations that involve arguments. It is always your endeavor to be perfect and socially correct in your behavior and attitude, but if misunderstood and slighted you can give in to an angry outburst. You will shout and scream and then walk out from the scene. You cannot easily forget the situation and will be bitter about it for a long time.

PISCES FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20
The only thing that can be said about you dreamers is that you appear even more attractive when angry. You are very sensitive to others’ feelings, so you rarely hurt them. But when others tend to hurt you, then things take a nasty turn. You will yell and use harsh words and feel inclined to shake everything and everyone up. Your creative imagination is at its best when angry, and you tend to get pretty dramatic. When upset, you refuse to listen to reason and wish to be left alone. But once you calm down, you repent your tantrums and seek forgiveness. SO nobody can be upset with you for too long.

I won't be left on the shelf! er... at least i hope so...

everyone seems to be rather concerned abt my marital status. should they be?

my colleague of less than 2 weeks (A GUY) just encouraged me to go for SDU outings. and to go for SDU outings with a guy who goes to SDU outings. luckily i found out that the colleague is already attached. kind of freaky, dun u think? anyway, do colleagues go ard asking new colleagues to join SDU activities? although some of the SDU activities sound fun, i really dun think i would wanna go w a guy i only had lunch w once.

then on my way home tonite, bumped into my brother's fren's aunt (note: childhood fren, i noe the guy too). she was ecstatic to hear that i was still single. i think she said something like telling my bro's fren's mum that i'm still single. and said something along the line of "you should get together w him! would make a great couple! both of u so guai1..."

frankly, i really do make a sucky gf. why's everyone so concerned that i'm single?

i'm not yvonne! hmmph.

uncle david loves to call me yvonne. cos the girl who used to sit at my desk was called yvonne. so uncle david goes ard telling ppl to call me yvonne. -_-

so uncle david (UD) was chatting w sunny in sunny's room and i happened to walk past. then they pulled me into their conversation:

UD : so how old are u now?
Me : eh... going to be 23.
UD : orh... so u got 2.5 more years to be a fruitcake.
Me : eh?
UD : 25 yrs old mah... x'mas day... then fruitcake lor. then next yr, ba zhang (rice dumpling), then yr after that, mooncake lor! then after that...
Me : left on the shelf and no one wants liao!
everybody: LOL

UD also said if dun wanna be fruitcake, can also be logcake. =P

anyway, my job involves lots of free lunches, dinners and tea sessions apparently. so UD's aim is to fatten me up to 50kg in 2 months' time. or was it one month?

Long awaited Episode XI!

YES! you can read all about it here!

Update: the 3 gals are all in college... well... they WERE in college for the whole of today.

Susan - black hair, Ms Fortune
Gabi - blonde, Ms Popular
Bree - orange hair, Family Girl

They all studied different majors, although i don't remember which ones cos i just threw dice and tikam tikam. I think Bree is in pol science, which is what her grandma Angela did! Remember Mr Jones? Yes yes, the prof whom Angela was dating in Uni but dumped for Dominique and i was hoping to matchmake him with Lynette (angela's daughter) but they had a falling out and she married Ray Trottier instead? Black hair, tan guy... Well... he's Bree's professor now, and they fell in love and she wanted to get engaged to him... so they did!!! So Bree, the youngest of the lot decided on her guy first! She still wishes that her first love George could join her in college, but alas, it is not to be...

Gabi the blonde wants to have 10 best friends! sorry... but looking at how crowded her family is, i really don't think she can manage 10 best friends. So Gabi had already gotten to know Mitch, the Fireman. How? well... let's just say SOMEONE left some food on the stove for too long and a Knight in Red armour came to her rescue. =P Seeing her younger sis getting engaged so quickly made Ms Popular panic, so she got engaged to Mitch. Oh joy! I heard he's a family man so they should be happy together!

Susan... all she thinks of is to sell masterpieces, which are worth between 550- 607 simoleons. Yes, that's the Sims currency. Not dollars, not cents, but simoleons. I was starting to get worried about her. Her social circle is SOOOO limited being the money-minded gal that she is. Cute guys already taken - the Fireman, the young prof... She couldn't get hold of the manservant (i think they're short in supply - i keep getting Lucy or Kayleen, the well endowed French maids). The repairman is too old, the bartender... well... erms... AND THEN I REMEMBERED THE GARDENER! well... she wanted flowers and shrubs anyway. turns out that the garderner Leo is quite the cutie. In my personal opinion, the cutest of the lot and my sis was wondering, "what's a farmer doing here?" lol...

So they all got engaged AND graduated! Bree WANTS to throw a wedding party = she wants to get married! Susan wants to get into a CRIMINAL career *gasps*. Crime really doesn't pay, Ms Fortune. She also wants to marry a rich sim, but i don't think the gardener makes much. Gabi... like her gramps, wants to serve the country - it's military or police for her. i wonder... if Gabi becomes a cop, and Susie becomes a criminal, will they end up in conflict? *gasps*

------------------------------
Does Prof Jones still love Angela? Does Angela still love Prof Jones? Can Bree be happy with her grandma's ex? Will Grampa Dominique get pissed off? WILL SUSAN DUMP LEO FOR A RICH GUY??? WILL SUSAN AND GABI FACE OFF?!?! Tune in next Sunday night for the next exciting episode of...

Fairview Affairs *fairs fairs fairs*...

i really ought to be less trusting...

First Day at Work Report.

Met Melly Welly to go to work together. Reached my new workplace rather early... so tmr can wake up later. =)

8 of us started work today. 5 FSOs, 2 Communications officers and 1 girl from AGD. VOC should have switched jobs earlier! then can join me! of the 8 of us, the 2 comm officers, AGD girl and one FSO were making early/mid-career changes. So left us 4 fresh grads. The training room was set up with tables for 4, so we formed the "freshies" table while the career change ppl sat at the other table. So there was this guy from sociology who applied for the job last nov and got offered the job in jan! and got a scholar too who turned out to be the soci guy's pri 4 classmate!

One of the freshies looked quite cute and turned out to be Aki's schoolmate!

AC: "Oh... i'm from RE."
Me: "OOH! then do u know Aki?"
AC: "THAT SUPER SMART GIRL AH? WHO DUNNO?"

so i msged Aki, who said she agar agar noe who he is and asked me to say "Hi" to him for her, to which he replied "WAH! constant reporting ah?" lol... anyway, he has braces too! I won't be the only freshie who needs to take time off for dental appt. =) All the FSOs are in different depts, i'm the only one in a functional dept. the other 4 are going to political depts...

Lots of talks. The security head was very strict. must be careful when i start work! My pass photo very ugly. but expected. totally not photogenic. the Library head was very funny and kept emphasising that he/the library is there to help us so we must feel free to utilise it. Lunch sucked. We're gonna venture out to Tanglin Mall tmr.

While talking to the other guys, found out that for the interview, we were interviewed by the heads of the depts that were likely to take us in. Wow... so from the 2nd round they already had an idea of where to send us i guess.

Had an informal session with the director of HR. He said something like "some of u might be asking yourselves 'why never get into HR?' " (in ref to him being a nice guy i guess) and was looking at me. dunno if cos i almost ended up in HR or cos he was sitting directly opposite me so he was looking at me when he said that.

We had early dismissal! left work at 430 today! but Aki's schoolmate was asked to attend a dept farewell party for the guy he was replacing so he had to stay back. =P

tmr's another day of briefing... then will get to go to our dept at the end of the day. Heard that the ppl in my dept are quite nice... let's see tmr! =)

Death becomes her.

The moment i've been waiting for: Mr Grim Reaper, accompanied by his two hula dancers had come to bring Angela on her eternal holiday. U can see Gabi on the left side crying.
However, 群众要求, Lynette resurrected Angela by making a call to Mr Reaper, offering $10k (if too little, Mr Reaper not happy = Angela becomes a zombie). She remembers all her relationships, except to D's! So have to make them fall in love all over again.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

However, since D is just 1 day younger than A, Mr Reaper came again with his entourage to bring D on his holiday.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

So in the spirit of finding out whether resurrected beings can get married again, Angela resurrected D to 再续情缘. Already set up the altar, just waiting for them to 培养感情。

Anyway, update on the rest of the family:
Ray and Lynette are now elderly people and have thus reached menopause. NO MORE BABIES FOR RAY! they are older than their parents now, since the parents were resurrected at age 54 but R&L are now 58 or so.
Susan has gone off to college. Her ambition is to have fame and Fortune.
Gabi is trying to score more scholarships before she goes to college. In the meantime, her relationship w Bree isn't very good so trying to get them involved in more group activities. Her ambition is to be Popular
Bree is now a teenager. got into private school like her two older sisters. Her ambition is to have a Family.

----------------------
Will D&A get married again? Will Gabi and Bree fall out? Will anyone want to resurrect R&L when they die eventually? FIND OUT MORE in the NEXT EXCITING EPISODE OF "FAIRVIEW AFFAIRS"!

Tai-Tai Day

Regret buying my new shoes (black strappy). Nice, but heels are 3 inches and the straps are a bit too tight. =( Must buy some padding to protect the balls of my soles!

WANKO:
Went shopping w Aki and Spinky today. While Spinky was home making rice dumplings, Aki and I bought the same tops at Wanko. We also noted that the shirts there are quite nice and fitting! Given that Wanko has 50% or buy 1 get 1 free sales ever so often, we might go there more frequently. =)

MATCH:
While I tried and subsequently bought a sleeveless top from Match, Aki went to do her big business. Really wanted an opinion on it before i bought it but i think it's the best buy (top) i made today. =) only $16.50! cos half-price... Waited outside Dano for a while and got bumped into one of 3 ang mohs. -_- sheesh. At some pt in time, we concluded that i look like the tai tai and Aki looked like my maid. =P

DANO:
Dano also had some nice tops! but i resisted buying another striped short sleeved top (which Aki wanted to buy n we would hence have 3 tops that are of same design, of which 2 are exact same colour). As the discount was only valid for 2 or more purchase, Aki decided to wait for Spinky to come, and brainwash her into buying clothes there.

Lunch! KFC! So long never eat there!!!

Post lunch: Met Spinky in front of Dano and got her to try some clothes which ultimately, were too big for her cos her frame is very small. In the end, I bought the black top that Spinky TRIED ON (resembles Ms Dreamer's style). haha... anyway, we got additional 10% discount cos Aki used her debit card! Woohoo! Then we went Novo to see shoes. Cos i had saw one earlier and was very tempted to buy. But at $39, the flat half covered, pointy shoes looked more casual than formal so i decided to just buy a pair of court shoes next time.

Back to WANKO:
Then we brought Spinky to Wanko to convince her to buy the top that we had bought but it was too big for her too. (there goes any chance of the 3 of us wearing the same shirts out. =P ) But she tried this short sleeved green shirt which fitted much better! SO TEMPTED TO BUY! ONLY $19.90!!! Had to quickly get out of the shop to resist buying. haha...

Back to IORA:
Then we showed Spinky the nice top we saw at Iora. I still think it's very nice!!! But very ex cos no sale. =( $36! Hope for sales next time then go buy... So anyone who see Iora sale must tell me!!!

U2:
Passed by U2 which we went in cos Jac didn't mind going to try this top that she liked. At first we thought no discount but it was 30% off. We flipped thru some clothes that were stacked across the bottom of the shelf and picked out a short sleeved one but was a bit too colourful. Aki and I bought spaghettis: me Blue&W, Aki B&W. More clothes of the same design!!!

So we managed to spend more than $150 altogether so we got a free tote bag while Spinky bumped into and talked to her ex-classmates. Next stop: Facial. Alright lar... but i still think my sis's facial place was better.

ROBINSONS:
Aki and Spinky looked at shoes while i sat down cos of my aching feet. Aki and I needed makeup but didn't know which shade was more suitable for us. Thus, we went to the Loreal counter at Robinsons, noted what stuff was suitable for us, and decided to come back and buy mascara.

Good offers at Guardian! 20% off! bought some skincare.

Back to Robinsons:
We were tempted to buy eye shadow! haha... 2 for $14.90! after vigourous application and rubbing on our hands (courtesy of Spinky), we ended up buying the same colour! haha... Spinky bought 2 for herself. Then i remarked that i forgot to buy makeup remover and the counter girl said "makeup remover? now got promo: buy 2 get 1 free" to which Spinky and I decided to SAPU!!! haha...

Really 满载而归!
Summary of what i bought:
  • Wanko shirt: $34.50
  • Match sleeveless top: $16.50
  • Dano short sleeves shirt: $28
  • U2 spaghettis: $19.50
  • Moisturizer: $16.90
  • Foundation (Sheer cashmere - don't need to powder!): $23
  • Mascara and eyeshadow: $18.35
  • Makeup remover (Gentle cleansing milk): $10.10
Did i miss anything out? =P $167!!! plus lunch, $172.80!!! THE MOST I HAVE EVER SPENT IN A DAY! but as long as i don't buy shoes, i don't regret my purchases... =) I really hate buying shoes... and heels are so high these days! must train!!!

ANOTHER GIRL!!!!!

The nick says it all. Ray and Lynette have yet another daughter - Bree! They must have tried to have a baby 5 times in a row - once in bed and the other 4 times in the hot tub - to no avail. Was starting to postulate why:
1. Lynette has reached menopause early.
2. Gabrielle was still a toddler so mebbe there's a bug which prevents mothers of toddlers from getting pregnant.
3. Ray's too stressed out from his Astronaut job.
4. Being in space kills sperms.
At which point, i contemplated the adoption service and also started wishing that sims could undergo IVF. Then Bree was conceived. ANOTHER GIRL!?!? I guess i'll just have to (a) let the Trottier name die out (b) make some guy 入赘 (marry into) the family.

summary of family and genetics:
1. Angela - 67 yrs old. White hair (used to be blonde), fair skin.
2. Dominque - 67 yrs old. White hair (used to be black), tanned skin.
3. Lynette - mid-adult. Blonde (dyed. born with black hair), fair skin.
4. Ray - mid-adult. Orange hair, fair skin.
5. Susan - 2 days from being a teenager. Black hair (Mum/Grampa's genes), fair skin (Mum/Dad/Grandma's genes)
6. Gabrielle - just grew up to be a child Blonde (Grandma's genes), fair skin (Mum/Dad/Grandma's genes)
7. Bree- newborn. Orange eyebrows (Dad's genes), fair skin (Mum/Dad/Grandma's genes)

So at her age, Angela still wants to have a relatively active sex life. D on the other hand, just wants to be best friends with his grand-daughters. Poor D. he got electrocuted just now.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
AND HE SURVIVED! Sad to say. Well... kind of tired of having to manage an extended family with 7 members so started wishing D & A's deaths. =P would have been interesting to see him die (not in a sadistic way lar!). So he lives to die another day...
--------------------------
With the shortage of male NPCs, will the 3 girls grow up to fight over the same man? Will any of them have to marry Pao Mellon, the mailman? When will D & A die? Keep yourself updated in the next episode of "Fairview Affairs"!

What my cousin is up to...

So my dear cousin really does seem more kan cheong to see me get attached and married than i am.

Apparently, there's a new guy in her church. 28, optometrist or something, single, hot favourite for aunties in the church to attempt to matchmake to their single nieces. So my dear girl decided that she must introduce that guy to meet and decided that i should go to their church one of these sunday mornings to get a look at the guy.

In the end, my aunt (who knew nothing of my cousin's plans) invited me to go for the evening service just now. My cousin was disappointed that the guy didn't go but the pastor happened to be praising the guy in tonight's service, causing my cousin to grin from ear to ear.

Am I gonna have to be that desperate to depend on my cousin on matchmaking services? lol

Television Baton

Feel so honoured to have sparked Spinky's idea! haha... don't think anyone can beat me.

Total volume of video files on my computer:

Approx 140GB, maybe 550+ files? this excl my bro's extensive cd/dvd collection.

The television shows I have watched today/ are going to watch today are:
1. Bleach
2. 同心圆
3. 阴差阳错
4. 流金岁月

Five shows that I really like to watch are:
1. Cardcaptor Sakura. One of the first anime i watched as a teenager. I love Clamp's artwork!
2. Fruits Basket. First introduced to it in 2001, it's just really sweet...
3. Desperate Housewives. Hmmm... coupled with Sims 2, does seem to show some truth to Vin's comments? haha
4. Love Revolution. SO TOUCHING! plus Fujiki is so SHUAI!!! actually i like a lot of other Jap shows lar... watch whatever my sister watches...
5. Tokyo Cinderella Love Story. One of the earliest J-drama that i watched and remember. i think the first j-drama i ever watched was "101 proposals" but don't remember much except that the make lead eventually proposed with a NUT (as in the nut that goes with a screw).

Five people I'm passing the baton on to are:

5. Conscience - eh... entertain us with your taste in TV programs!

NEWSFLASH

Back to boring old reality. =P

Another normal day. finally bought my new pair of shoes! at Novena Sq. =P then went KK for weekly feel-good session. Played XBOX (some car racing game and "The Hobbit") with a girl (Ika) cos there weren't any boys hogging the XBOX today! hehe...

Then later, Ika, her sister, another girl and I played monopoly! MADNESS! We were trying to play really fast cos the room was closing in half an hour and i was the banker. cards and money flying around! and Ika was caught stealing money from the bank, after which i had to keep stopping her from using the bank as her ATM. Then it turns out that the new volunteer is a Financial Planner (with a subsidiary of Philip Capital) and she arrange a consultation session with me to give me an idea of what financial planning is about. No cost lar... since just introduction. I guess it's good to have an idea of such things. Cannot always be so ignorant!

Sis noticed the new bag. She calls it Obiang. =( And asks what are the chances that i'll need such a bag. and she was surprised that i didn't buy covered shoes. Reminded her not to wear my heels tomorrow (wearing to my new workplace tomorrow) and she confessed that HER new shoes really aren't any good for walking around/standing for long periods of time. THANK GOODNESS I DIDN'T WEAR THEM YESTERDAY!

Bought a cake just now! Wanted to get discount on it so went looking for Mum, who was at NTUC (or maybe she had moved on to another supermarket) but bumped into my friend GT. So i asked if she had the POSB ATM card, she said yes, and i made her dump her bf and dragged her with me. haha... Later i realised that i could have bought the cake tomorrow morning and have used my sister's discount card instead. =P oh well...blur me... I really should read emails more carefully...

Wishes do come true...

Why? cos DOMINIQUE GOT CAUGHT CHEATING! *gasps*

It really wasn't intentional... I really didn't mean for him to get caught! or to cheat for that manner! So Dominique has been nursing a crush on their neighbour, Sandy Bruty and their relationship was waning. So he invited Sandy over for a chat and some jokes. Note that there are now 4 members of the family: D, Angela, Lynette and Ray so i was focusing my energy on the young couple when suddenly ANGELA WANTED TO SLAP D! and they had the caught cheating sign floating above their heads. Angela was furious (-80 relationship points) and refused to sleep with D so had to come up with some makeshift sleeping arrangements for D. Angela contemplated BREAK UP (which means that D would be driven out of the house) but thankfully, the relationship was saved by lots of talking and flirting at the right time.

So how are our young lovebirds doing? Both entered the Military career but Lynette got pregnant on their wedding night so she got maternity leave. Ray rose quickly and is now an Astronaut! But he hasn't reached the peak of his career yet so he needs to improve his mechanical skills, charisma and body.

Then one morning, Lynette gave birth! To a baby GIRL (Susan)! Not that i'm sexist but the Goss family name is already going to die with Dominque's eventual death and i'm really not too keen to let the Trottier name eventually die with Ray. On the same day that Susan was born, our old couple got older: they turned into senior citizens with white hair and all. D doesn't walk around naked as much now, just every now and then. He has more sense these days to wear a red pyjamas around. Probably doesn't want to catch a cold. Anyway, that's good cos when he's old and naked, it kind of makes him look ji ko pek-ish.

Thank goodness that Ray's a Family man and actually want to have more kids. And for some reason, D&A also wants to have more grandchildren and they play active roles in helping to take care of Suzie while her parents work. [wonder if the game was created to mimic real life in this aspect.]

So Lynette's pregnant again! Hoping for a boy so that the Trottier name can live on. Pray that it won't be another girl cos i'm starting to worry that there aren't enough good-looking guys in the university for them to date. =P Realised that Mascots aren't really NPCs so now that Ray left the university, THEY HAVE 1 LESS MASCOT (and shuai4 ge1). Hope that i won't deplete the guys in the college. If Suzie gets a baby sister, little sis might end up experimenting with a different sexual orientation cos the guys in college really are too ugly to date.

------------------------
Will Suzie get a sister (in which case, would be named Gabrielle) or a brother (named Mike)? WILL I EVER GET TO NAME A BABY MIKE?!? Will Ray get caught cheating like his father-in-law? Don't miss the next exciting episode of...
"FAIRVIEW AFFAIRS"! *echo echo echo*

Meet Mr Trottier

I found this absolutely hilarious.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
as u can see, Mr Trottier walks around with his Cow head in a suit every day. Well... not all the time, cos sometimes he wears his whole Cow costume. [photo taken in the walk-in wardrobe/washroom of the new Goss family home: 2 Wisteria Lane]

He graduated with honours so they finally got married! He doesn't want to get engaged to Jordan anymore, although he wants to flirt with her but fears getting caught cheating. -_- For some reason, Lynette and Ray both want to join the military. Anyway, Lynette is expecting their first child aka the Gosses' first grandchild!

--------------------
Will Ray get caught cheating? or will Angela the Flirt get caught cheating? IS ANYONE GOING TO GET CAUGHT CHEATING?!?!? Stay tuned for the next episode of *echoey voice* "FAIRVIEW AFFAIRS" *echo echo echo*...

THAT SON OF A PIG!

Good looks always comes at a price. When a sim is created, it is conferred personality traits such as grouchy/nice, lazy/active etc... so dear Mr Trottier turns out to be a lazy grouchy bum. But it's really difficult to break engagements (i think) so poor Lynette is stuck with this fiance (who hopefully will be a better man after he graduates/gets married). anyway, realised that as mascot, every now and then, the school coach Sunny will suddenly pop at his (Ray's) house and order him to work out! to which he immediately falls to the ground to start pumping and sit ups etc...

but what really pisses me off is that he's fallen in love with a cheerleader (Jordan)! and for a whole sem, he wanted to get engaged to her! but he doesn't want to break off his engagement to Lynette! That two-timing cow (but actually, i guess technically he's a bull =P)! tsk tsk tsk... what kind of a Family man is he??? starting to feel like 我把鲜花插在牛粪上. Literally.

and that Jordan! suddenly got into a cat fight with another mascot (Aiyana) at Ray's house while he was in class! The two were doing research together and suddenly a fight broke out and there was smoke and expletives (censored, of course: e.g. @ ! #) and Jordan won! must be a 三八! Trying to steal other people's boyfriend but get into secret fights with his team mates!

--------------------------------
Trailer: Ray Trottier is in his final year of studies now. Will Ray still love Jordan if he realises how catty Jordan really is? Can a cow live happily ever after with a b****?! Will he dump Lynette at the altar (again) and try to run off with Jordan? Stay tuned tomorrow for the next episode of "Fairview Affairs"!
--------------------------------

In other news (about myself), we had yet another crazy day of fun and laughter (peace and joy)... the makeover was quite fun too! picked up some interesting tips on make up! tempted to buy the toner/base/foundation/powder... maybe will go back next week to buy...

less than 2 weeks before work starts and i still don't have a complete wardrobe and a pair of working shoes! ARGH!!!

Meet the Gosses

Since i've been playing sims 2 more than doing anything else, let me introduce the family to you guys. Be prepared for a long story.

I started with a character i created: Angela Forrest. Young female who went to Academie la Tour (university) and met the college streaker (Dominique Goss), fell in love and got engaged. Angela asked him to move in with her after she graduated and he proposed marriage!

Since they aren't the Family type (angela's a Flirt and Dominique's Mr Popular), i decided to impose the one-child policy on them. anyway, angela isn't too keen on having another baby. I guess she probably feels that another baby would hinder her flirtatious ways. So they had a baby girl, named Lynette Goss.

Genetics: Dominique's well tanned and has jet black hair, while Angela is fair skinned and has blonde hair. Lynette turned out to be fair skinned with jet black hair: really weird combi actually. Anyway, she's quite the genius! She managed to get all the available scholarships before she ended her teenage years! Hence, we (her parents and I) decided to send her to college earlier.

So in college, i wanted Lynette to date Prof Jones, who was Angela's Prof (and almost married her but i thought the streaker would make a more interesting husband). So kind of like get the daughter to marry the mum's ex. but they fell out and Lynette fell in love with Hayden (not Christensen, not the amazing race contestant). But Hayden was sneaking around in another dorm mate's room so i decided that Lynette needed to open up her social circle.

So Lynette picked up the college directory and called one of the sch's few male mascots: Ray Trottier. So he has a weird surname... But he's a nice guy and they fell in love. Note that Ray's always in his cow costume except when i got a hot tub and i saw that he's actually one of the few good-looking guys in the college! WHAT LUCK!

So at her graduation party, Lynette turned a potential Disaster to a Great Time by proposing engagement to Ray! Of course he agreed! Then she moved back home with her parents.

--------------------
THE COW IS BUGGED!
--------------------
So Lynette's happily at home wanting to have a wedding ceremony. She invited all her friends and they toast champagne to the newlyweds. But everyone had a drink too much and i had to install temporary toilet stalls in Lynette's bedroom. (Desperate times calls for desperate measures. =P)

Then suddenly Ray decides to go home and LEFT LYNETTE AT THE ALTAR! *gasps* So i reloaded my game (i know that's cheating the Legacy game but i can't let her be dumped like that) and i find that THE COW IS BUGGED! He can't move in with her and they can't get married! *double gasps*

--------------------
WILL LYNETTE EVER GET TO MARRY HER TROTTER *ahem* i mean TROTTIER?
STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT EXCITING UPDATE!

been playing that the past few days. previously chanced upon this "legacy game" for sims 2 players. you're suppose to make your characters marry NPCs (non-playable characters). so created an empty town w a single young adult female and married her off to her college streaker! so funny... that guy, cannot plan outfit for swimwear, underwear, pyjamas or formal! so although he has a set of all those, he pops into the hot tub naked (censored with blurred boxes)! and walks around the house naked most of the time. but every time some visitors see him, they would jerk backwards and have shocked expressions! =P

the hunt for the perfect pair of shoes is going nowhere. i have concluded that i'm not going to find it in tampines so i'll be extending my search to orchard on wed. fitting everywhere that i need to go to in as few days as possible to save on transport costs. GOING UP AGAIN! and sigh, MFA isn't the most convenient place to work in, still got to take mrt and bus. don't know if i have to continue to walk up the hill the long way... and found out where ms dreamer's workplace is! looks quite far from the map. =P

less than 11 hours to finding out how my last exams were... hoping for B+ for all except tumour, which i am hoping for a B-. sigh...

aki finished her section of the report! and i haven't finished my part yet! but actually hor, since we (spinky and i) have done a presentation on the tour, do we still need to write one? but good for keepsake! =)

sister is trying to decide on where/whether to go for hols before the new semester starts again. choices: hong kong, taiwan, gold coast. told her go hong kong next year, when disney opens. but she say go ocean park AND disney? isn't that weird? so i say what's so weird about that? the gang is contemplating going tokyo AND hong kong next year and visit both disneylands! haha... so i told her go gold coast.

joke of the day: she asked me for australia's weather so i asked her to check the weather forecast in today's newspaper.so ST has a map to indicate weather right? she was looking for australia and asked "eh? where is it ah? this one right?" POINTING AT EAST MALAYSIA/KALIMANTAN before realising that "eh... the shape like wrong hor..." OMG. my sister doesn't know where australia is but is contemplating going there. is she really going to be ok traveling w her friends? i wonder...

From Ralphie's Blog.

Are you a prostitute or are you an auditor?

1. You work very odd hours.
2. You are paid a lot of money to keep your client happy.
3. You are paid well but your pimp gets most of the money.
4. You spend a majority of your time in a hotel room.
5. You charge by the hour but your time can be extended.
6. You are not proud of what you do.
7. Creating fantasies for your clients is rewarded.
8. It’s difficult to have a family.
9. You have no job satisfaction.
10. If a client beats you up, the pimp just sends you to another client.
11. You are embarrassed to tell people what you do for a living.
12. People ask you, "What do you do?" and you can't explain it.
13. Your client pays for your hotel room plus your hourly rate.
14. Your client always wants to know how much you charge and what they get for the money.
15. Your pimp drives nice cars like Mercedes or Jaguars.
16. Your pimp encourages drinking and you become addicted to drugs to ease the pain of it all.
17. You know the pimp is charging more than you are worth but if the client is foolish enough to pay it's not your problem.
18. When you leave to go see a client, you look great, but return looking like hell (compare your appearance on Monday AM to Friday PM).
19. You are rated on your "performance" in an excruciating ordeal.
20. Even though you get paid the big bucks, it's the client who walks away smiling.
21. The client always thinks your "cut" of your billing rate is higher than it actually is, and in turn, expects miracles from you.
22. When you deduct your "take" from your billing rate, you constantly wonder if you could get a better deal with another pimp.
23. Your pimp seams to often abuse you, forgetting that without you, he would not have a business.
24. You do all the real work, but the pimp has a higher status and more money, and really just has to "coordinate" the work for you. Sometimes, you wonder if you could just make more money pimping out yourself.
25. You get so brainwashed into the lifestyle, that you don't realize that life can be better, until it is too late.
26. Personal time, or a work/life balance, is meaningless to your pimp, all he cares about is satisfying the clients, despite how many times he tells you he loves you.
27. After a few years, you find that all your non-prostitute friends are no longer your friends, because you lost touch and your schedule and lifestyle was difficult to manage, and you find that you associate primarily with other prostitutes.
28. The turnover rate is ridiculously high. Everyone thinks they can do it for a few years, no problem, but after just a few clients railing you, many break under the pressure, or quit for a better life.
29. Most of the time, your job could be performed by a well-trained monkey.
30. You thought college was a waste of time.

i'm a ENFJ(Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging)! i remember the last i took, i was a ENT(Thinking)J and in JC, was I(Introverted)NTJ...

Enneagram test

Take the test at: http://www.9types.com/newtest/homepage.actual.html

I'm primarily a Type 1: Reformer. (http://www.9types.com/descr/1/)

World View: The world is an imperfect place. I work toward improvement.
Basic Desire: to be right
Basic Fear: of being condemned

The Perfectionist (the One)

Perfectionists are realistic, conscientious, and principled. They strive to live up to their high ideals.

How to Get Along with Me

  • Take your share of the responsibility so I don't end up with all the work.
  • Acknowledge my achievements.
  • I'm hard on myself. Reassure me that I'm fine the way I am.
  • Tell me that you value my advice.
  • Be fair and considerate, as I am.
  • Apologize if you have been unthoughtful. It will help me to forgive.
  • Gently encourage me to lighten up and to laugh at myself when I get uptight, but hear my worries first.

What I Like About Being a One

  • being self-disciplined and able to accomplish a great deal
  • working hard to make the world a better place
  • having high standards and ethics; not compromising myself
  • being reasonable, responsible, and dedicated in everything I do
  • being able to put facts together, coming to good understandings, and figuring out wise solutions
  • being the best I can be and bringing out the best in other people

What's Hard About Being a One

  • being disappointed with myself or others when my expectations are not met
  • feeling burdened by too much responsibility
  • thinking that what I do is never good enough
  • not being appreciated for what I do for people
  • being upset because others aren't trying as hard as I am
  • obsessing about what I did or what I should do
  • being tense, anxious, and taking things too seriously

Ones as Children Often

  • criticize themselves in anticipation of criticism from others
  • refrain from doing things that they think might not come out perfect
  • focus on living up to the expectations of their parents and teachers
  • are very responsible; may assume the role of parent
  • hold back negative emotions ("good children aren't angry")

Ones as Parents

  • teach their children responsibility and strong moral values
  • are consistent and fair
  • discipline firmly

Perfectionists see anger as a character flaw and repress it.

Self-Preservation Ones: "Worried and Anxious"

  • Hardly a minute goes by when I'm not worrying about something: my finances, job security, the condition of the world, or little things such as what to buy for dinner.
  • Changes in routine make me anxious.
  • I may stay in an inappropriate or unsatisfying job for years rather than undergo the anxiety of looking for something new that I might like.
  • I feel as if one error could ruin everything.
  • I assess every last detail in advance in order to keep my life perfect and under control. When I finish worrying about myself, I worry about whether my loved ones are going to be safe and sound.
  • I often imagine that someone is checking up on me or scrutinizing and criticizing everything I do.
  • I frequently compare myself to other people, correct myself a lot, and apologize -- or feel that I should apologize.
  • Sometimes I procrastinate because I'm afraid to make a mistake.

Relational Ones: "Insecure and Jealous"

  • I tend to be overly possessive.
  • I worry that my loved one will reject me for a more attractive or perfect person.
  • I obsessively compare myself with others.
  • When my partner or friend makes a positive comment about another person, such as, "He is a great cook," I get upset and think she means I am not a great cook.
  • I feel ashamed and insecure when I experience boiling anger or jealousy. Sometimes I act overly enthusiastic or positive to cover up the feelings I think are improper.
  • I become indignant when someone who doesn't deserve it gets honored or promoted or doesn't have to worry as much as I do about earning a Living.
  • I like the intensity of being fully and passionately engaged with another person.
  • I try to get my partner to meet my high standards and expectations in order to make him or her -- and our life together -- better.

Social Ones: "Adaptable or Unadaptable"

  • Sometimes I defend what I believe in so adamantly, it puts me on the outs with people.
  • There are times when I really want to reform something or someone, but I quietly simmer rather than rock the boat. It's important to try to get along.
  • I've been accused of being unyielding, but I deliberate carefully and thoroughly in forming my opinions and can see no reason to change them.
  • I believe in cooperation, but I will not go along with anything that is completely against my principles.
  • When people don't perform up to my standards, I feel I must set them straight.
  • I am drawn to groups that share my ideals, but sometimes I end up overworking because the others don't get things done right. I often feel resentful and have to leave.

One in Love
Living with Ones:

  • Do remember details. Ones are detail conscious. They appreciate small gestures: being on time, remembering names, proper introductions.
  • Speak respectfully. Make sure no one looks foolish. Ask for permission.
  • Compliment thrift, effort, and dependability. Don't expect compliments in return.
  • Cultivate your character. Set improvement goals. Don't flaunt your achievements.
  • Admit error immediately. Admission clears the air and prevents resentment.
  • Bring novelty and fun to relating. Ones tend to repeat the known.
  • Avoid power struggles. Ones need to be right. There are at least two right ways.
  • Maintain your own interests. Ones work long hours on their own.
  • Humor is especially helpful. Worry vanishes with gentle humor.
  • Ones perfect relationships. "What are our responsibilitites?" "What are we learning?" "What does right relating mean?" Ethics of relating are reviewed.
  • Scorched-earth policy. If the relationship develops a negative aspect, Ones think about calling the whole thing off. Relationships seem either black or white.
  • Once committed and convinced, Ones dig in. Extremely loyal. Value a family.
  • Guilt. Pleasure signals anxiety: lightning may strike if we're having fun.

One at Work
In the Workplace:

  • Likes specific guidelines and schedules. Loopholes are traumatic.
  • Practical. Reshapes abstract approaches into step-by-step procedures.
  • Likes schedules and accountability, knowing who's responsible for what.
  • Keeps track of detail.
  • Energy that could go to product may be diverted to details.
  • Looks for evidence of ethical character -- discipline, manners, appearance, respect.
  • Prefers doing over feeling. Wants to focus on work rather than work relationships.
  • Aware of critical points about a program but has a hard time proposing broad solutions. Too much room for error.
  • Secure in a formal role. Wants to respect hierarchy and authority.
  • Aware of the resume and the record. "Good people have a good history."
  • Devoted to work for its own sake. Takes pleasure in a job well done.
  • Works hard for the right cause, for the good leader, for the competent team.
  • Compares own effort to others'. "If they work, I work. If they don't, I won't."
  • Keeps score. Notes what others do right and wrong. Will defend others if they're in "the right." Airs the grudge list if they're in the wrong.
  • Can mask sense of personal entitlement by working for a good cause. "I deserve respect and special treatment because I do good in the world."
  • Wants rewards for effort and competence but will not ask. May displace resentment over nonrecognition onto details and petty interactions. Legitimizes hurt feelings by finding fault with others.
  • Finds it hard to delegate responsibility. Worries about getting the job done right.
  • Doesn't want to be compromised by the mistakes of others. Will hold a loner's stance until the source of error is assigned.
  • Afraid to be wrong. Prone to power struggles and arguments about who's right.
  • Shifts blame. "There was a reason," "It wasn't my fault."
  • Avoids risk. Risk leads to mistakes. When in doubt, wait. Don't take chances.
  • Strong advocate for those who work under a disadvantage or who improve as a result of personal effort.

Musical Baton

WAH... VOC put me top of her target list... lol. after i did it, here goes:

Total volume of music files on the laptop:
3.09GB, 640 songs. still doesn't beat GZ. may have one or two songs lurking outside the folder... don't own most of the songs, prob half belong to my sister (huge Ayu database =P)...

The last CD I bought was:
if i remember right... was a Valen Hsu compilation cd. too long ago. mebbe in sec school. i do remember the first that i bought: emil chau "xiao tian tang" (with EZ band) bought with MPH vouchers i won in sec 1!

Song playing right now:
nothing. but it would probably be Breakaway (kelly clarkson) or Without You (Kimberly Locke and Clay Aiken). makes me seem like a AI fan huh? but recently, Without You has been the song in my head.

Five songs that I listen to a lot, or mean a lot to me (in no particular order):

1. Angel by Sarah MacLachlan. listen to it whenever i feel down.

2. Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson. listen to it when i feel rebellious and cos i love Princess Diaries!

3. Feel by Robbie Williams. listen to it when i feel rebellious. love the beat.

4. To where you are by Josh Groban. I remember when i first heard him sing on Ally. OMG. it was so touching. in that episode, he sang it for his dead "mum" i think. then i saw him sing again at a mini concert and he dedicated it to all those people who's brothers etc are soldiers fighting in Iraq.

5. 我愿意 by 王菲. kept bugging Vin for the lyrics in sec sch but in the end, shu e gave it to me in my autograph book. why is it in this list? eh... i love faye wong's earlier works - breathy melancholic pieces. and i think this would be one song that i would wanna play at my wedding. haha...

Something irrelevant: just realised that out of the 5, only 1 chinese although i have greater exposure to chinese pop.

Five people I'm passing the baton to:
1. Prozac: cos u haven't replied to being targeted!
2. Spinky: cos u haven't replied to being targeted!
3. Vin: cos u haven't replied to being targeted!
4. Ms Dreamer: cos u haven't been targeted!
5. Xuxinli: cos u're the only one outside my groupies in my list of bloggers whom i think would reply to this. ha.

au revoir, my tresses!

the whole point of making appointments is so that the person you arrange with can spend optimal amount of time with every customer.

however, halfway through my haircut, she had to go cut someone else's hair. wouldn't have been that bad if she hadn't left me there for HALF AN HOUR staring at myself in a huge mirror. i was ready to cry liao. looked damn "toot" cos she was only 3/4-way through. and the hair-dry girl sucks. lousy. let my hair fly all over my face.

when she came back and finished the job, it wasn't any more comforting. was looking for a more corporate look. told her that i was starting an admin job, but frankly, i think my hairstyle now is neither here nor there. mebbe i'm just not used to it. but i still wanna cry. doesn't help that i just watched the last episode of desperate housewives.

DOUBLE ARGH

We lost! AGAIN! (in reference to champion's league)

felt compelled to comment on the totally screwed up soccer scene. of course it's heartwarming that benitez managed to pull his team together and win it (despite stoopid gerrard's chelsea antics). but MILAN??? how could they have let in 3 goals just like that? and they lost the league to Juve... sianz.

just hoping that chelsea doesn't win next season. can't stand their arrogance. will gerrard still go? will the reds get to defend their title? but damn unfair if they sacrifice everton to let liverpool play.

WAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!

We lost! we lost! how could we have lost?!? *cry*

Round 3... FIGHT!

Battle of the reds: Man U vs Arsenal in extra time. Man U... Man U... Man U...

3rd round of photo developing tmr! hopefully no more pixelated photos and size will be ok. spent ard $100 on photos and albums liao. =P

lessons learnt:
  • digital photos cannot print 4R. half my face got cut off in one. must print "digital size". why the stupid 1st shop never warn me? they are suppose to be quite reputable some more... -_- or maybe 'cause they think all of their customers are pros at developing photos? grrr...

  • carry more memory rather than use the minimum. you never know when your photos end up pixelated. always safer to pay for more memory, than to print smaller photos/reprint.

  • high optical zoom is very useful for travel with tour group s! because sometimes the tour doesn't go TO where you want to go, but goes PAST it from far, only high optical zoom can catch it.

  • fast shutter speed! very important if you are taking photos in freezing weather! if you don't mind panasonic, the OIS is prob really great for this. and new panasonic cams have higher optical zoom (6x)...

  • don't know if it is just my canon: most photos look overexposed. -_- colours not as vivid as olympus. but it's still user-friendly so i still love my camera!
  • speaking of which, realised that ixus night/indoor shots tend to be more blur if the flash is off. maybe compensating with higher ISO speeds would have helped to minimise the blur. hmmm... must remember to try next time.

bloated

thank goodness i went out for lunch today. mum created century egg porridge a la cereal and for dinner, we had unfresh fish. >_<

developed my photos! picked out the ones i thought are nice... some turned out pixelated. think maybe they were taken at lower resolution even though larger photo size. not sure. pixelation not too obvious unless u stare at it in the day. anyway, don't know if i should start arranging photos now, or wait till after the full Japan Tour report emerges so that can write memories into the album too. =)

I AM STARTING WORK ON 13th JUNE! How exciting. decided that even if i do get offered the Venice Biennale internship, it would cause too much inconvenience to accept it - my dentist is also not too keen on me being away for too long at this point in treatment. Or maybe i'm just chicken - no guts to go italy by myself for 2 months. well, actually, don't even know if they are going to offer it to me or not but shall just be happy that i got an exciting career ahead of me...

somebody save me...

exploded with anger today. it really isn't nice if you move other people's things around when they are away and not tell them exactly what you moved where and let them go figure out for themselves.

-----

today: dentist visit
i was 10 min late for my dental appt today. got to the mrt station only to find that i brought the Japan wallet out so had to run home to get my regular wallet n rush to Orchard. why did i bring the wrong wallet? cause some people like to mess with other people's things without thinking/telling the other person.

usually when it rains, there's a traffic jam because cars slow down to avoid accidents. traffic jam at the dentist's too. he was 40 min behind schedule today. as i was sitting in the waiting area, came across today's horoscope in Life: your unselfish acts will be repaid 8 times over. so was wondering if the dentist being later than me was a good thing, because that would mean that i wasn't really late so i didn't really cause the dentist any trouble. =P

anyway, my dentist thinks i'll do ok for my new career and that i'm an "ideal candidate based on the limited interaction" he has had with me. Aww... he also said that my braces will only be off ard 3rd or 4th quarter. =( had hoped to get it off by july (graduation) but i guess that's not likely. hopefully can get it off by my birthday...

-----
just counted our japan photos! got abt 900+ from amongst the 3 of us... =P i think olympus cameras have more vivid colours, spinky n aki have very colourful photos of flowers! as the official ecological photographer for the trip, i am ashamed that my photos pale in comparison. literally. hope to get BK's photos tomorrow, then can start sorting out which ones to develop! then can buy a new album and hopefully get it ready by the next choir pals outing! =)

T&J's wedding!

My DHS seniors! (11 years older than me)

took this at the wedding last night... the guy in the centre is the current DHS principal aka my physics teacher. he was one of the "brothers" while i was one of the "sisters" and we made him act as a pole for the groom to dance around! haha...

his daughter is so adorable rite? apparently she was trying so hard not to blink during the photo-taking that she blinked furiously after. =)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

anyway, the morning started out as a potential mess cos:
  1. it was raining
  2. there was a traffic jam
  3. 2 bridesmaids with the "sweet" and the "hot" arrived at the hotel LATER than the groom's entourage
  4. the matchmaker's car broke down.
thank goodness the car broke down. =P the 4 of us present would hardly be sufficient to hold the door! so it ran pretty smoothly from there... I yam seng the loudest! haha...

so fun! who's gonna get married next? can see why my cousin wants to be my bridesmaid... =)

zoning out

after yet another crazy night out with the gang, got woke up this morn by my sis's alarm. the bf is bringing her to see yet another doctor. i think that's the 3rd doc she's seeing this month. apparently she sees 2 doc for different problems and i have no idea what new problem has popped up that requires her to see a 3rd doc. she just tells me that one of her medication running out. it's really bad to doctor hop but she doesn't want to listen so like that lor.

realised that i'm just really unphotogenic. i hate taking passport-size photos cos you're suppose to look presentable in it, but somehow i always look sloppy. waste money... next time should borrow digicam, find a nice bright spot to take and photoshop it before sending to print instead of going to a "professional".

mid-exam destress session last night! so fun! almost the full gathering of the fellowship of the ex-link carders. mebbe we'll have full fellowship at chalet. =) everyone was singing/shouting at the same time! madness! VOC was so distracted with settling the bill that she didn't realise that the perfect couple secretly replayed their song so that they could master it and she was wondering how come the song so long... haha...

i am so looking forward to chalet! we're gonna pretend to be 21 again! (although i really don't think our mentality has changed that much over the past 1+ years, or at least the way we are when we're together. =) )

chalet chalet chalet...

1 week to japan!

Confused

Life's a mess. i have no idea what to do after graduation. really.

realised that the TA applications has closed. darn. no "refund" for heading down that path liao. there was a time when i wanted to be a primary sch science teacher.... bring my kids out to the science centre and let them be wowed by the omnimax theatre, to the zoo to see animals and learn about how different animals adapt to different environments, or just bring them to the school ecogarden so that the guys can pick up bird's nest fern spores on their fingers and go around freaking the girls out. LOL. those were the days.

the pri sch science syllabus is a whole lot different from what it used to be. Nature used to be a huge part of it - from building leaf litters to leaving your recess extras to rot in the science room. But the government promotes big ideas in little things. Primary 4 kids have to understand what genes do to us. Haven't seen the pri 6 textbook but i expect it to be an extension. Just like what happened to us 4 years ago, on that faithful day before we declared our majors.

I think it's really sad. Little kids don't want really to know more about things that they can't really see. Ok, maybe some really curious kids would, but putting in all these means we're cutting down elsewhere. we're losing all the fun side of science that might spur kids on to learn more. just like what it did to me.

well anyway, i don't think THEY'LL let me be a primary school teacher. probably have to teach sec sch kids who are on their way to being either disillusioned by science or actually noticing that they're missing out on the bigger picture.

what should i do after i graduate? so many responsibilities to fulfil but my options seem so limited.
