Sat:
morning went to watch vj choir at Siglap. of course i was intending to sing while vin wasn't. Valli din noe how to get there so she drove but took a wrong turn (or rather, she DIDN'T make the turn =P *my fault*) n took almost forever to get to tampines. by which time we were all ultra high n squeaky from our frantic calling n exchange of road information while she was driving here. =P Surprise, surprise, PROZAC came too! n 2 med boys n a med gal juz launched into a colourful discussion of O&G, littered which multiple syllable terms which din mean anything to me at all. =P n NELLY BELLY called us 超级老人。 HMMPH.

Sun:
skipped tuition for my hair twirling exp. at the end of which, i couldn't believe that it was my own hair. It's so hard to learn how to twist ur own hair looking at the reflection of the auntie demo-ing to u! the 5 hr exp... wasn't really worth it for the money cos it's uncurling liao *sigh* but was worth it in the sense that i finally got to fulfil my wish of dunno how many yrs n get to see what my hair looks like not so straight! YAY!

Mon:
went to orchard AGAIN!!! yet another spontaneous session w my ever so spontaneous friends. =) must be the hols... was looking at various blogs. "Innocent and naive... " - is that me *innocent look*? hahaha... hey... harsh reality of the world. which is why i love my lab. amazingly lucky me managed to find a lab w minimal politics n everyone is juz as crazy as me... or as amy said today, i'm exerting influences on the lab ppl. she say their starting to talk like me... hahaha... even my fren (boss wife) says she kenna my influence too. which may be a bad thing cos Boss finds me extremely noisy at work. hahaha... to which amy said that boss wife got her own brand of chinese (she can't shake off her hong kong accent). =P

Tues: read Digital Life article on Grace Chow. sigh.

Wed (TODAY!):
as usual: msged boss wife when i reached her place.
Not usual: no reply.
after 10 mins, i called boss wife. no reply.
called boss. boss wife picks up n says they've just woken up. -___-
at the end of the day, we (boss and i) went back to lab pick boss wife who wasn't done w work. in the meantime, amy spotted a strand of white hair on my head but lost sight of it. to prove her point, she broke off this 2 cm fragment of my hair --- 1 cm white, 1 cm black --- and announced that i must have been sad then became happy so it turned black again. LOL. anyway, later she managed to pull out an extremely uneven white hair. ARGH! getting old!

after that, we all took boss car down to city area. amy was gonna go "stick" to her hubby, boss n boss wife go shopping. we passed by Raffles hotel at 735pm. to which i JUMPED off the car (literally =P) n made a dash across the road w 18s n counting. hahaha... the jr choir sounded alright... but it really brought back memories of performing there... =( should i join chorale? *GASPS* hahaha...

finally figured out y my nose looks like a tree trunk. my freq sniffling has caused wrinkles to run parallel on it. ARGH! another sign of getting old!!! (read: spinky's n aki's latest blog entry n ctrl-f "Kalms")

2 days down to x'mas!!! *deck the halls w boughs of holly*

Today i had a neck breaking experience that gave me a reason to twirl my hair. =P

Surprise, surprise....

Today i learnt that ppl dun really trust me with their personal particulars. :P
n i thot that spinky takes 40 min baths, which she later clarified that it incl dinner time.

ppl who got calls tonight were told - Lucky draw.

If ur answer was A... well... in a way... it was suppose to be part of a secret x'mas present. it was suppose to be "secret" cos i usually dun give x'ma presents but wanted to surprise u guys w one this yr.

but...
i din manage to complete the task in time. so there will STILL be no x'mas presents this yr.

Today's surprise came in the morning... went for breakfast w my fren n her husband (aka my boss) n we went to Tanjong Katong. As we passed by TKSS n TKGS, i remembered my good old days in my sec sch's old campus. as it turns out, MY BOSS IS ALSO FROM THE SAME SEC SCH! HAHAHAHA... The next surprise was... HE'S MY SEC 3 PHYSICS TEACHER'S BUDDY! Small world this is...

so we talked abt how they were like in sec sch - that they were from st john's n were dispatched to other schs to help them set up st john's clubs... n that they would watch movies EVERY week! of course we gossiped abt teachers too... haha...

so looking forward to meeting my sec 3 physics teacher again at my fren's wedding. =)

Leaping lizards

today i got freaked out by a lizard.

opened a drawer out of boredom n saw the lizard staring at me. it was a dark brown colour... must different from the usual greyish green. so i thot it looked a different colour cos it has dead for A LONG TIME. then as i recalled that i opened the same drawer yesterday n that the lizard was there, IT SUDDENLY MOVED!!!!!!! gave me such a scare that i almost jumped. =P

in other news, my boss went to the library today for the first time in dunno how many yrs! and when he tried to borrow books, the librarian told him that he hasn't used his card for so long that it requires re-activation. heehee... anyway, he was trying to borrow books on feng shui. does it really work?

A time to mingle

Don't miss this great opportunity to network and mingle with your counterparts and peers from the various Life Science platforms. This would be an opportune time to share research updates and news, all in a relaxed and social setting.

The inaugural OLS Networking Nite will be held in December 2004. Beer will be served; or if you are a teetotaler, there is always a can of Coke or Sprite. There will be free flow of snacks such as peanuts to complete the ideal setting for a brainstorming session of good ideas, or a simple catch up of how things are going ! All this for a participation fee of $1.00 onwards.

All students and staff from the School of Computing, faculties of Dentistry, Engineering, Medicine and Science are welcome to join us. For the upcoming inaugural opening, both President Shih and Director of Life Sciences, Prof John Wong would be gracing our event. So do lend us your support for the event!

BEER??? are they encouraging students to drink beer? it's well known that my marine bio prof LOVES beer but the folks at the Office of Life Sciences are encouraging students to drink beer? sheesh. apparently this is gonna be a regular thing... every few months or something.

forgot that i haven't given the answer to my last FIB. dunno where the post is so shall juz give a brief idea on what the answers were. so Vin was partially correct... on my birthday. yup... tampines mall, but not crystal jade - was thinking Pizza and Pasta cos haven't eaten that in a while. =P was saying should watch movie first, then can find a place and sit down n talk crap till they close or something... haha...

went to wisma AGAIN last nite after wed dinner w the usual suspects (refer to spinky's site). =P w my fren n he husband a.k.a. my boss. they still in the honeymoon stage of marriage... so sweet! AIYOH!!!! can't stand it. hahaha...

the woman din call me today! thank goodness! was getting sick of getting calls every day n being called "ah muay". n she kept insisting that she din call the wrong number!

was surfing around job websites last nite. still undecided as to whether to do admin work/research.

y i should do research:

1. won't have to change my wardrobe (although i'll prob need new socks or more comfortable shoes =P)
2. RA jobs supposedly pay relatively well. (2.2-2.5k?)
3. dun waste my degree

y i shouldn't do research:

1. kind of a dead end cos i doubt i'll wanna do phd?
2. irregular working hours - not conducive for a social life.

so i have no idea wat to do and am likely to apply for everything that comes my way next yr. hahaha...

indecent exposure

Science 4 students will get Sem 1 exam results on CHRISTMAS eve 11AM.

Science 3 studets - means sharon n shu e - will get theirs on CHRISTMAS eve too... but gotta wait till 5PM.

today my sis thot she saw LIU SONG REN at taka. some of u may know my ultra big damian-liu-song-ren-fan fren... whom i made the mistake of calling to inform her. =P never heard her so excited before... hahaha... ordering me to order my sister to stop him n get his autograph/photo.

dropped by my godsis' house today after work. talked abt mice, printing, scandals n rich frens. some ppl have all the luck.
