Of snails n such

I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MANY WATER SNAILS IN 1 FISH TANK. in fact, with the estimated 100 snails and only ONE fish, it looked more like a water snail tank. Stands in my uncle's house. There's also a very yellowed photo of my mum when she was really young! n all my uncles and aunts... almost couldn't recognise some of them! There was also a photo of my cousin's wedding, where i was the only girl wearing shorts (when all my other female cousins AND my sister) got to wear dresses -_-). Had really short and "toot" hair, with humongous glasses too... *sigh* those were the days...

Backtrack by 2 hours:
before i went to my uncle's house, was at my aunt's house celebrating the fact that my newest cousin's one month old! My darling Laurie had forgotten me! *cry* She is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE can??? 2 years old only and she can understand so much! except that she doesn't know what colour grey and brown is. But no fear, she warmed up to me after a game of LONDON BRIDGE which as usual, ended with me catching her cos her brother n my other cousins (7-9 yrs old) kept running away. have i mentioned the fact that she is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE??? she has the prettiest dimples!!! and smooth curly hair!!! and she sings!!! and she says "你好吗" in an accented tone!!! Single tone actually. Note: she's half-french. then no matter how you teach her, she just says it the same way! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and she could tell me about what she did in australia for her hols! of course needed some prompting lar... But my grandma said that sometimes she would bring Laurie to the roadside to wait for her brother to come home on the school bus. Then got one time, after some time, she suddenly said to Ah Ma, " No bus, take taxi." SO CUTE RIGHT??? and she hardly ever takes taxi cos my aunt n uncle drive them around!

Backtrack to this afternoon:
I finally did IT!!! It was so simple! and yet so satisfying! makes me want more!!! lol...

LISTERINE IS SO NUMBING!!! Instant burning feeling!

So silly of me... the nite before yesterday, told my sis i was going to go swimming yesterday and even said "DON'T TRY TO STOP ME!" jokingly. so yesterday was all dressed up to go swimming. had a feeling all day that the pool was closed. When i walked there, THE POOL REALLY WAS CLOSED!!! -_- Then when i got home, told my sis about it and she said, "Eh? thought i told u before?" and that she thought that i was going to the swimming pool at school. hai...

Still dozing off in class. should make it a habit to wake up at early regular hours.

what i did today

• dozed off in both classes although they are my most interesting modules this sem. prob shouldn't bring notes to class. breeds complacency
• bought a crystal star pendant for my sis! arts bazaar... haven't been to one in ages!
• rubbed my aching back
• told all the girls in lab abt my hairdye tale.
• discussed the origins of Uruk-hais n Orcs with the PhD student. Anyone would like to tell me how come Uruk-Hais are born from earth?are they moulded from the mud?
• got a call from KK! going for orientation on thurs! hopefully will be able to contribute (positively) to the program. =)
• today i spent the least amount of time on the pc game! cos of my aching back. Ok, ok... mainly cos my sis had work to do. haven't done actual sch work in some time. must wean myself off the game n start doing work!
• surfed some travel agencies' websites. NATA's fair is 18-20th march i think. good. should still give us time to decide where to go n when. 2 yrs ago, i think our first attempt failed cos not everyone who wanted to go really knew what the tours encompassed? This time must plan better! must try to get more ppl to go to the fair together! hee...

NEW BLOG LOOK!

Decided that my blog needed a new look since i've already stopped killing mice. COMES W A NEW NAME TOO! More reflecting of my true nature... hahaha...

Got my hair dyed on friday morn! but it's not very evenly done and also considerably straighter now... :( sigh... oh well... Quite an experience nonetheless.

• went down to TM at 1015. thought not much of a queue so went to look around.
• returned at 1040 and found a queue. promptly started to queue. called my sis n VOC n prozac to come down.
  
• Made friends w the aunties who were queuing before and after me.
• 1050: uproar cos of lack of queue system. Auntie in front of me was very vocal
• 11: start of queue system. promptly called VOC to "FASTER COME!!! FORGET ABOUT THE FRIES!"
• VOC brought her mum along *thankfully* who got a queue number for Prozac.
• we were told to GO AWAY first. told to come back around 6+. -_-
• exchanged numbers w auntie behind me so that she could go home first n we would call her when it was our turn.
  
• sent my sis home. told prozac no need to rush down. went shopping for bedsheets w VOC n mum
• 12+: bumped into auntie in front of me. she told us that we could actually get the appointment earlier so we went back. called my sis to come down too. called prozac to come down. Typical of him to ask "should i wear an older Tee? Do i need to gel my hair? No need? Oh... must wear cap liao"
• 1+: got our faces scanned into a laptop n hair colours simulated. VOC and sis ended up w the same colour TERRACOTTA which is reddish-brown.Prozac was torn between terracotta and CHESTNUT (dark brown) but decided on CHESTNUT. I decided to go w a slightly more reddish/orangish tinge RUBY. Although i thot IRISH RED sounded more exciting and looked darker but the lady told me that RUBY was better.
• Prozac changed his mind. decided to try TERRACOTTA since the colours usually turn out darker than they look.
  
• 2+: ended up queuing w the aunties who were in front n behind me! we had lots of fun talking crap which i cannot remember what exactly. VOC exclaimed that she had no idea that my sis was studying in SMU although i seem to recall that i pointed this fact out to several friends last yr liao. OOPS. :P
• Saw a girl w very nicely dyed short hair. VOC, prozac n i promptly speculated animatedly what colour it was. Pretty sure my sis was the only calm one (as usual). Wanted to ask the promoter but the girl prob heard us cos she suddenly shouted TERRACOTTA to us n smiled.
• Prozac PANICKED. Was worried that it would be inappropriate for him to sport such a bright colour at work. More animated discussion followed, to which he was extremely indecisive and the auntie behind me commented that he was like a girl. =P
• Prozac decided to take CHESTNUT.
• More queuing. At some point in time, Prozac decided to reconsider his choice. FINAL DECISION: TERRACOTTA. VOC pointed out that if it turns out too bright, all 3 of them could share a bottle of black hair dye 2 weeks later. =P
• I got my hair dyed! since it's been a month since i last combed my hair, it was excruciatingly painful as the hair-dye lady tried to smooth it out. Could hear VOC telling my sis that actually my hair is very long n thick.
  
• After i got mine dyed, the hair dye ladies decided to take breaks. in the meantime, the cling film on my head was slipping off. =P
• Finally got mine washed. Blow dry lady was very friendly and gave me tips on how to manage my hair.
  
• Was interviewed by the emcee and declared the "best interviewee" cos i talked the most. =P
• VOC, prozac n sis got theirs done. In the meantime, helped VOC's mum to dye her hair.
• VOC's hair is the brightest! although her colour was supposed to be darker than mine. Prozac's one wasn't very obvious and after it was blow dried, his head looked like a durian.
  
• While we waited for VOC's mum's hair to set, we chatted with the blow dry lady andmade friends w her. she even gave prozac suggestions as to what hairstyle suited him best.
  
• 6+: prozac left to meet his friends. by this time, it was much less sunnier than before but he still whipped out his magnetic shades. Poseurimbo. -_- LOL...

Current hair update: it's much straighter than before n unevenly dyed. oh well... free job so can't expect too much i guess...

in case u've been wondering why i haven't been blogging, mainly cos i've been spending the majority of my online time on Maple Story. All Peo's fault! hahaha...

oh!!! n today i had a LOTR marathon w my brother! borrowed ROTK extended ver from a friend! Spinky!!! they showed a bit more of the Faromir & Eowyn story in this one! in fact, a lot of stuff were much better explained in the extended version. =)

as i was watching, i was reminded of all the scenes when we would squeal "BROTHERLY LOVE" n scream "AWWW" at legola's appearance! i kept thinking of how we were in the cinemas! hahaha... he still looks so shuai n nimble!!!! hahaha... going crazy liao!!! u guys must watch too!!! must thank spinky and aki for winning that Today comp (3 yrs ago?!) n going to PS to watch FOTR which i didn't get to watch when it was first released in the cinemas!

class this sem is quite alright. except fridays which can be ultra long days n i lose steam after lunch (provided i got time for lunch =P). had a sudden craving for Hotcakes on thurs... mmm... hopefully will get to eat on mon. hee... behavioural bio n conservation bio are so entertaining! peter ng still telling his Dodo and passenger pigeon stories, n sodhi is juz a really fun prof! hopefully the exams will be easy to crap through... hehe...

GREATEST NEW YEAR PARTY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - part i: prep work

WAS SO HIGH YESTERDAY!!! spent 24 hrs at spinky's house!!! slept only abt 3-4 hrs in the morn so today i woke up at 3! PM! hehe....

June:

• had been thinking to make something special to celebrate 10 yrs of knowing some of u guys! so borrowed scanner from a fren to do a photo montage...
  

Early Dec:

• started thinking that the photo stuff wouldn't be very practical n somehow, the idea of ez-link card popped into my head. being the one who can never keep secrets, was extremely hard trying to conceal my excitement when i had to msg aki n spinky to ask abt photos n card designs... hehe...
• wanted to make diff ones for each person but was too ex so decided to stick to group one. PAISEH to Mr Kow cos on a tight budget... =P

Dec 16-17:

• found out that it wouldn't be ready by x'mas but hoped that it would be ready by new yr eve since the lady told me it takes abt two weeks.
• bombarded my photoshop pals w designs n asked them for opinions. finally settled on one which i thot could have been better if i wasn't in such a rush to get it done.
  

Dec 18th:

• went to singapore mint shop at 730 n found out that it closes at 8pm! then the lady told me that gonna take a month! was quite disappointed but decided that since i was already there, decided to go ahead.
• found out that need their IC #s so that easier for the intended to get refunds etc. frantic calling of groupies:
• first to get call: spinky. cos she's always the most reliable when picking up calls but she din pick up. :P
• next: vin. n he asked "y?" so had to tell him that it was for a lucky draw or secret present or something along that line (which i proceeded to tell everyone else).
  
• next: aki. wasn't very willing to tell me. was very scared that she juz wouldn't give me but gave me in the end. :P
• next: gz. gave me ic liao but din give me add. heard caroling in the background.
• next: VOC. asked if i was trying to sabo her
• next: Ms dreamer. was easiest to get ic # from. although lucky draw was a totally weird reason, she agreed w/o protest. :P
• next: spinky again. called her house. dad picked up so asked for her mum. always easier to talk to auntie. hee... told auntie that i was preparing a x'mas gift n needed ic, which she gave promptly.
• next: tried to get gz's add. he din return msgs. 2nd round of calling everyone to see if they had his add to no avail. had to link his card to my name.
  

27 dec noon:

• received call from singapore mint that the cards were ready! blew my plan on packaging the cards nicely due to lack of time.

28 dec:

• arranged w spinky's mum to go to their place when spinky was out.
  

Thurs:

• asked spinky if she wanted to go watch movie. had no intention to watch cos was actually trying to confirm that she wasn't in. =p
• arrived at spinky's at 7+, got myself invited for dinner (hee... ), chatted w auntie n uncle abt x'mas food, new couches etc... auntie gave me a tour of their house n suggested hiding places.
• 8+: spinky called home to say tat she was already on the way home!!! mass panic! uncle decided to drag her out for dinner while auntie kept telling me that must be because aki din go for dinner w her, o/w usually come home at 10pm.
• scrambled to write clues n hide them. ultra messy cos mixed up the order of the clues... :P
• ran up n down the stairs to hide the clues
• managed to hide the last ones as auntie cried "welcome home!" or something to that extent as spinky walked up to the door.
• cleared the mess n went up to spinky to say hi. to which she said hi back. think she was slightly surprised that i was at her house so explained that i was preping a game.
• was ultra high already from all that running!!! uncle drove us to the mrt stn so that i could take mrt home. n was talking to spinky in excited high pitched tones abt new yr's eve.
