Something There
There's something sweet
And almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
And now he's dear
And so I'm sure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before
[Beast:]
She glanced this way
I thought I saw
And when we touched she didn't shudder at my paw
No it can't be
I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before
[Belle:]
New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be?
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see
[Lumiere:] Well, who'd have thought?
[Mrs Potts:] Well, bless my soul
[Cogsworth:] Well, who'd have known?
[Mrs Potts:] Well, who indeed?
[Lumiere:] And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?
[Mrs Potts:] It's so peculiar. Wait and see
[Lumiere and Cogsworth:] We'll wait and see
[All three:] A few days more
There may be something there that wasn't there before
[Cogsworth:] You know, perhaps there's something there that wasn't
there before
[Mrs Potts:] There may be something there that wasn't there before

2nd day in HK
After that, we went to Causeway Bay and had dim sum *again* (but I'm not complaining). Met Honey Bee's primary school friend who's a Hong Konger. Quite a nice chap, very friendly. While he and Honey Bee caught up over lunch, Serene (our hostess) and I went shopping. I'm quite pathetic at shopping - bought a zara tee, a Little Twin Stars fan and wrapping paper (why? cos it's cute =P). Bumped into Honey Bee and Friend at Sogo - Why? Cos they were looking for the elusive perfect Hello Kitty soft toy. =P He couldn't find one that I liked though, despite his Friend's best efforts to track down shops that sold Hello Kitty. =P After thatn, we went to eat 炖奶. SO NICE! I love dairy products and the 炖奶 was so smooth and yummy!
In the evening, we went to the Peak. Took a video of the tram ride but if I run out of space on my SD card, will have to delete it (should have brought the camera cable). We took photos of the sunset, ate Mcwings, bought Kittybricks (Hello Kitty in Bearbricks format!) at Macdonalds, took some evening shots of Hong Kong too. Foggy though... =/ After that, we had dinner with our hosts and Friend at Causeway Bay.
We'll be going to Disneyland later. Praying for good weather and a small crowd. Btw, scalded my tongue on the first night and I think it's developed some small ulcers. =/ Hope they heal soon and don't affect my appetite. =P

Had dim sum today at City Hall and walked from Tsim Sha Tsui to Mong Kok. If only it wasn't raining so hard. Will cut down on sms tomorrow.

The Country Quiz
You're France!
Most people think you're snobby, but it's really just that you're better than everyone else. At least you're more loyal to the real language, the fine arts, and the fine wines than anyone else.
You aren't worth beans in a fight, unless you're really short, but you're so good at other things that it usually doesn't matter. Some of your finest works were intended to be short-term projects.

Both require time and effort to learn them well. It'll be difficult to apportion time between the two and decide which I like better. =P

Checking in?
Bumped into Terky on the van and he offered to walk with me from the van drop-off to Hyatt. When we got to Hyatt, the natural instinct was to go up to the reception to confirm that the guest who was suppose to receive the cd did indeed stay there.
So we walked up to the counter, and the guy said, "Checking in?" Sheesh.
-------
On other matters, had lunch with my course participants today. Alicia complained that although she thinks I need to attend more of such meals and fatten up, she would rather I lunch with the office folks today because only 3 of them were going for lunch together.
So I sat at the same table as David. Always like going to lunches with David because he's funny and entertains the guests. The lunch came with a simple dessert buffet. So typical me, having the sweet tooth, tried the mango mousse cake, strawberry mousse and two slices of fruits. And you know what he did? He dumped half of his tiramisu and cheese cake - two of the most sinful desserts - onto my plate and told the participants that I could afford to gain more weight. -_-

Take bigger steps
Sunday, July 16, 2006
A conversation the other night went...
I: You haven't met the right person to make you change your mind yet.
Friend: I haven't met the person who won't ask me to change my mind.
We were talking about relationships and changes; I was trying to convince the Friend that being in a relationship with SOMEONE would require One to make certain changes to One's lifestyle, while the Friend was convinced that THE ONE should ideally be someone who doesn't ask One to change One's lifestyle. The Friend also talked about how patience was important if SOMEONE wanted to see the changes happen. And that the Friend was fundamentally flawed.
How should it be? To change or to expect THE ONE to accept you for who you are? Since last year, changes have been ongoing, whether I like it or not... But it never seems enough, does it? I am who I am. Nobody's perfect. Everyone has flaws. So is it that my flaw(s) is/are unacceptable? What is expected of me? Am I to keep changing myself to match what is expected of me? Then that really wouldn't be me anymore, would it?
I hate to say it, but the Friend's logic seems to be more right than mine.
Quiet Day Ahead
Haven't been home the whole day in a long time. Weird feeling.
In the midst of doing laundry... Washing my socks too. Long overdue. =P
OH! and today's ST Lifestyle published the recipe for Hilton's famous cheesecake! But so difficult! How am I suppose to flip the cake over to see if it's evenly browned on both sides and put it back into the cake mould?
Came across the quiz on someone's blog...
The Keys to Your Heart |
![]() You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart. In love, you feel the most alive when your partner is patient and never willing to give up on you. You'd like to your lover to think you are flexible and ready for anything! You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please. Your ideal relationship is traditional. Without saying anything, both of you communicate with your hearts. Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment. You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred. In this moment, you think of love as something you don't need. You just feel like flirting around and playing right now. |

I almost choked on Fresh N White
Today, my fren in Tokyo msned me early in the morning. He was feeling terrible. He may be in /on the brink of slipping into depression. His girlfriend of a year confessed last month that she liked someone else. Could feel how crushed he was... =( Really felt like flying over there to comfort him. Hope that things will get better for him and that he would be able to move on in the event that...
What do you do when the one that you think to be THE ONE tells you that he/she is in love with someone else? How would you cope? Can't imagine.
On a happier note, it's fun to dance with your eyes closed. But the Teacher says I'm too rigid. Wonder if it's cos of my heels...

To move on, or not to move on
My colleague was saying that after you've worked in the public sector for a while, it'll feel so comfortable that you wouldn't want to move to the private sector. Furthermore, by then, you would have no value-add to the private sector.
Princess Di said that if i quit, she wouldn't stay too long after that. Just goes to show how important the people around the workplace are. There's great rapport among my colleagues of equal rank and the guys from my batch. And i'm wondering if i should invest in a pair of dancing shoes. Cos i know i'ld be too lazy to learn outside of my workplace. =P
Feel quite accomplished. Blogging more regularly now. =)

Losing patience
The work environment is really trying my patience. Well, not just mine, even my next door neighbour who has survived 10 yrs in this place is finding that she's running low on steam. How do we work with someone who is so stubborn that he thinks the whole world revolves around him?
Just heard that my friend is making her 2nd job change. i.e. she's moving on to her 3rd job. an average person changes job seven times in a lifetime...
one day, when I find that I have no patience left to face this job, that's when I'll make my move too.

reminiscence
Came across this post....
yesterday i met a guy who knows what he wants. He wanted to do Med but didn't get in on his first try. So he got an Engineering degree instead THEN apply for Med (which he got). And he wants to go into research or child psychology... wow... do guys at 27 always know what they want? like my other 27 yr old friend... actually i think he's 28 this year. Mebbe cos they have already "wasted" a couple of years in their lives so they know better. Will i end up going in circles for a couple of years too, before i finally figure out what i want?
Kind of applicable to me now.

2nd post in 1 day in a long time!
I guess it's a gastric attack that wasn't treated properly at the first instance. Missed lunch on sat cos I was baking a cake while my dad had his third helping of breakfast, which btw, I think I didn't eat any of. But I'm pretty sure I must have eaten something else that morning... just can't remember what it was. =P
Missed Disa's farewell lunch today! Darn... It'll be harder to meet her next time when she moves to SubCourts becomes a DJ...
I have a feeling this won't be the last post of the day.

Hisk's birthday celebrations
Despite the party being planned in about three days, managed to get abt half the FSBP to go for the chalet. Thanks to the following for turning up:
Harold, ZS, Josh, Nelson, Eirliani, Terk, Adeline, Yeen Teck, Ken, WJ, Denise, Ding, Diana, Wilson and Hisk's fren Merv.
Quick recap of what we went thru:
- it started pouring when i got ther so poor harold n ZS had to dash in in the rain. =P
- "big 2" w ZS and Harold: ZS was so lucky! only lost once...
- mahjong: "5 of balls... 5 of bamboos"
- watching Singapore Idol: can't believe we actually sat thru the whole show!
- "7 deadly sins": was a nightmare trying to sort out the rules! at abt that time when Ken and Josh were suppose to act out their "sins", the birthday boy came...
- the ice wine was great! the rest of the wine... eh... =P
- at some pt in time, YT jiggled his gr*** in front of WJ.
- birthday cake: a pity it lost its "alignment". prob happened while i was looking for a taxi to go to the chalet. we prepared the candles while the birthday boy went out for a smoke, turned off the lights and sang him a birthday song. wonder if he was surprised? anyway, poor adeline! almost got her fingers cut off trying to remove the candles!
- thanks to victor, we gotta play twister! first time i played that! so fun! and YT was so good at manouvering his way!
- soccer match: watched Germany vs Poland on Indonesia channel. =P that Ding ah! just went out the door, waved bye and went home! never say bye to everyone else!
- stupid game: decided to test the game tt the pals played on NYE one yr. i think everyone wasn't too gamed at first cos it's a brainless game with no aim but i think to the end, everyone took to it. =P took so many photos of funny poses! and having someone's head resting on your thigh is the ultimate tickle!
- the birthday boy was in a dictatorial mood and kept commanding ppl ard. after most ppl left, he smoked 4 cigarettes, became a beached whale and flopped off the bed. too bad we didn't manage to capture it on the video!
- we went to stroll on the beach too... and the birthday boy climbed over the gate. can't believe he did that. can't believe he managed to do that. =P
- almost fell asleep on the beach and on the way back, the birthday boy was flogging me like the horse cos of the towels i was carrying. -____-
- sleep! the birthday boy fell asleep so fast! and produced a thunderous symphony. =P
- when i woke up, i realised that i had "surround sound", but as Harold put it, the right speaker wasn't functioning as well as the left. LOL
- Josh accidentally locked the toilet door after he used it and we had to go to the main lobby to use the washroom. luckily the chalet we booked was near the lobby... was raining so heavily this morning and was scared that couldn't get home in the rain.
- talking abt ppl ard the office: we sure have lots of peculiar colleagues...
- was so thankful that the SBS bus came quite quickly! cos if we had missed it, would have to wait another 20 min...
- breakfast was disappointing!
everyone else went home by cab after that while i dozed off on the bus. =P Luckily, didn't miss my bus stop. was so stoned that i slept 5 hrs in the noon...
well... to sum up, hope that everyone had fun, esp the birthday "once-i-was-hunky,-now-i-am-chunky" "beached whale" boy. =P he wasn't really himself, or mebbe cos never really saw him around other his frens before? =/
anyway, may all your dreams and wishes come true!

One year on...
Thinking about going back to research but I'm doubtful if I can still catch up. And i'm such a blur klutz - sure end up contaminating samples. =P
On a happier note, joined waltz classes at work on Monday. Being swept off your feet is so fun! I think the company matters too - that the class isn't just for the older staff like most ppl think it is and the class is super on; two practice sessions every week on top of the class. Can't wait till they start Tango classes, but then again, will I still be here when they intro Tango?

A revival
Had lunch with a friend from my NUS days yesterday. Hadn't seen him in 2 years although we would chat online occasionally. Made me realise that I really should discipline myself to keep in touch with my friends on a regular basis.
Yesterday, someone commented that some ppl get so involved with their bf/gf that they don't really bother with their friends anymore. I hope I'm not like that, although I wonder if I would arrange to meet these friends more frequently if I wasn't attached.
--------------
Yesterday's sermon was about doing community work. The pastor quoted several verses from the Bible about how we should help the poor and stand up for them:
Psalm 103:8
Isaiah 41:17
Deuteronomy 15:7-11, 14-15, 17-22
Proverbs 14:31, 19:17, 21:13, 31:8-9
Acts 2:44, 4:34, 11:28
If you don't have a Bible, you can read the verses off the internet.
The pastor also read testimonials of the "poor" - defined as those who were in pain, in need or under-privileged... The experience was quite stirring. The pastor ended with a call to ask those who wanted to commit at that instance to help the poor when the opportunity arises. I was tempted to stand but held back by thoughts of how busy I was and would be. Although the pastor had said that busyness should not be an excuse, I couldn't help but let it pull me back. But the sermon definitely made me realise that I could do more to help others.
1 John 3:18
"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."
Chihuahua
No bones about it, you're an energetic, devoted Chihuahua. For your breed, size definitely doesn't matter. After all, sometimes the best things (diamonds, car keys, Godiva truffles) come in small packages. Honest and straightforward, you're never afraid to speak up for what you believe in, especially if it's a cause near and dear to your heart. Having such a passionate personality can come with a few drawbacks, though. You can be moody at times, and people often find it hard to live up to your high standards. But once you make a friend, it's for life. Saucy and intense, your energy and unfailing loyalty make you a great companion. Woof!

Honey Bee gave a Mont Blanc cardholder for x'mas... =) although i was eyeing a braun buffel one (to match the wallet which i would eventually get. wonder if braun buffel got extra discount during post-x'mas period?) And got a few new small bags - including 2 Naraya ones... what a coincidence. =P
Met Honey Bee's close frens today for x'mas dinner. his fren's baby is so cute! there's just something about babies... must be the way they look at everything so wide-eyed and innocently. oh yar... kenna grilled too. =P and played scrabble on an ancient travel set! pretty good games except that everyone was quite competitive and took a long time to come up with words.
Didn't catch the reunion carol session this year. 1st time in 7 years that i haven't done so. means i haven't met Nelly Belly at all this year! kind of miss carolling... "Pa da da da..."

The Sonnet
Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?
Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They're conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that's okay, because you're very choosy with your affections anyway. You'd absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.
Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You're already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there's no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.
You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.
ALWAYS AVOID: The 5-Night Stand, The False Messiah, The Hornivore, The Last Man on Earth
CONSIDER: The Loverboy

Last night i went to a restaurant of that name with ASN and ME. We were going to celebrate our first paychecks but SEA and ANZP couldn't come cos they had work to do... So i ended up out w the other 2. Can't seem to find a time when all of them are free.
So these two guys are the Beer-Drinker and the Wine-Drinker. Was quite funny to hear them talk about opposite likes. Beer-Drinker suggests next time go Chinatown for claypot fish head, Wine-Drinker would be talking about which wine to order... But overall, we kept talking about work and anything else that wasn't about work, would lead back to work. Otherwise, the 2 would be talking abt the Arts fac...
It was a good dinner. would have liked to try the tiramisu. Kind of weird to be dining w 2 guys in such a cosy restaurant cos it was neither a date nor a group outing. Hopefully can find a time when everyone can meet up together. =)
Later gotta go back to office and work... Sigh.

Sigh
My office is at the ground floor of the building. This morning, when i bent down to pick up something i had dropped on the floor, i found a millipede crawling around. Millipedes don't harm people so i picked it up with a piece of paper and brought it out to the lawn.
As i was flinging the millipede off, i found the gardener staring at me. He walked over when i flung the millipede off. So i pointed at it, and HE BRUSHED IT ASIDE AND SMASHED IT. -_-
Caught Ed's group at Esplanade today. Sounding great as usual...

so finally found a friend who was willing to play w me. =) so i lugged my standard sized scrabble board to suntec and we sat at Starbucks and played while drinking ice blended strawberry and cream and latte. really should make it a weekly thing cos otherwise i'm just really bored at home when The Gang doesn't meet up. AND I LOST! was leading by quite a bit at the start... but i think i got a bit complacent towards the mid and my opponent got the J, Q and Z - power letters. but it was a good game, cos we criss crossed the board, formed 2 words w just 4 tiles a few times, had a few 5-6 letter words too! =)
and i'm quite amazed that my life sci buddies are all free on 30th! except our dear LSR fan who has er hu class right smack in the mid of the day so i guess we'll have to start taking photos ard 9 or 10 then eat lunch so that she can get to her class.
tuition later...
Episode VII
Mrs Bree Jones - married Johnson Jones (prof; grandma angela's 1st or 2nd love)
Mrs Gabrielle Lawson - married Mitch Lawson (fireman)
Mrs Susan Deppissee - married Leo Deppisse (gardener)
all three got married on the same day, within 5 min of each other, and took the same limo to their honeymoons. =)
then... Gabi got pregnant first. gave birth to a Julie Lawson, baby girl with orange eyebrows (must be from Gabi's dad, Ray). Susan got pregnant second and gave birth to Mike Deppissee, baby boy *FINALLY broke the curse of daughters!* with black eyebrows. Bree got pregnant third, but don't think she'll be able to give birth (already 1 day overdue!) cos the game restricts the number of ppl in the house to maximum 8! I guess the 3 sisters will have to split up...
the house is so crowded! i don't even remember who's who's husband! i think i saw Leo kiss Gabi *gasps* or was it Susan? will this be the start of another scandalous relationship in the house? will Johnson Jones continue to see Grandma Angela? stay tuned!

Me: cannot! then cannot see u (DSO A) liao!
KY: photo hor... will bend... *KY slouches to imitate what the life size photo would look like if it was not supported on a board*
couldn't stop laughing when i recounted the incident to two of my other colleagues. =P

Pink as a lobster today, peel like an onion tmr.
went shopping *FINALLY*! bought 3 tops - well... in effective 2, cos the 3rd was to wear inside one of them. Yes aki, i should stop buying too many shirts! should try to keep a lookout for nice knit tops or something. they ran out of size so i had to settle for a 3rd choice colour, which isn't that bad except that i prefer the purple and the pink (although pink would look ultra sweet).
after that, we headed to spinky's place for our monthly dose of SNTGD! SO FUNNY!!! laughing uncontrollably, and as usual, laugh till i cried, and spinky went "ARGH! GREENIE!" and hit me with a cushion. =P we really should do this more often!
then the STOOPID bus! SPEEDING LAR! never stop for me although i was just 3m away from the bus stop. -_____- had to wait another 20 min b4 the bus came, and this one was speeding too, so had to hang on to the metal bar for support even though i was seated. =P
i think my left arm will ache tmr - feels a bit sore. and the pelvic bone is still aching from the bicycle seat. we should switch to blading next time - butt won't ache that much, unless we keep falling and landing on it. haha...

Get to know yourself better
This quiz is quite accurate for me... Kind of reminds me of the kind ur friends would ask u in sec sch, i.e. walk down a forest, what's the first animal u see/ on the table there's a jar - half full or half empty etc...

Your view on yourself:
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person. The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?Your views on education
Education is less important than the real world out there, away from the classroom. Deep inside you want to start working, earning money and living on your own.The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life. How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous. What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.Tuesday, July 05, 2005

“HOW BAD IS YOUR TEMPER ACCORDING TO YOUR HOROSCOPE?”
I think this is quite true... haha... [note: long post. 3 posts today!]
ARIES MARCH 21 – APRIL 20
Nothing seems to ruffle you more than a lack of discipline, disloyalty and decorum. But Arians are also known to go into a rage very easily when challenged. Those of you who have been on the receiving end of the Aries temper know that if not calmed down they can even get violent. But one thing is certain if the opponent remains calm and does not react to their outburst, Arians cool down very fast. They are also the first to apologies, which makes them easier to forgive.
TAURUS APRIL 21 – MAY 20
You are generally quiet and have control over your emotions. It is difficult to predict what will upset you, so when you do lose your cool, people don’t know how to react. Your temper is like that of a raging bull, and anyone trying to pacify you will be the first one to get a verbal bashing. You generally get upset when you are concerned or when people accuse you of doing something wrong. You also hate being reminded about mistakes you’ve made in the past. You also have the potential to be terribly vindictive if rubbed the wrong way.
GEMINI MAY 21 – June 29
You are recognized by your cheerful disposition and your jovial nature is easily susceptible to anger. In fact, you are the best person to have around when there is an ugly scene at a party you can bring the warring factions together quite diplomatically. But when you lose cool, you yell and scream and will not listen to reason. You must have the last word in a wordy duel. Your capacity to argue aggressively is matched only by your seductive charm.
CANCER JUNE 21 – JULY 21
Considering how charming, caring and kind you are, you dislike unpleasant scenes, much less creating one yourself. You have great tolerance and rarely get provoked into losing your temper. If someone is unreasonable or trying to create trouble, you are more likely to walk away quietly. But that does not mean you do not have a temper. When angry, in your effort to control your emotions, you tremble, your hands get sweaty and sometimes you fumble for words. Tears roll down your eyes easily and the opponent is touched by your innocence and will seek an apology immediately.
LEO JULY 22 – AUGUST 21
If anyone has total control over their emotions, it is you. But then, you can be described as stiff, cold and uncaring. You are known to lack spontaneity but you really don’t care about opinions. You don’t like to create scenes and will never accept invitations to a party where you suspect the presence of an unruly lot. But your very presence seems challenging to some and they take vicarious pleasure in your disquiet. When angry you can use critical language. A dressing down can humiliate your opponent, causing a strain between both of you forever.
VIRGO AUGUST 22 – SEPTEMBER 21
Most of you are gentle and have full control over your emotions but those of you given to temper tantrums can certainly get violent. When see things with rage, you yell and shout and tend to break things lying close at hand. You can even harm yourself by banging your hands on a glass top table or wall. You should never get into any argument, for you are a sore loser. You feel that others are trying to persecute you and don’t quite respect your opinions. When hurt, you can also hold grudges forever.
LIBRA SEPTEMBER 22 – OCTOBER 22
Did someone say that you are the charmers of the zodiac? Well, it’s true. Few have ever seen you ruffled or angry. You are very conscious of your image, and you believe that anger distorts your face and personality. You also think you are above things like anger. But wait before you get into self-congratulatory mood. Your family or those very close to you know you better. You have an unmatched temper amongst all the zodiac signs, and what makes it worse is your capacity to justify it.
SCORPIO OCTOBER 23 – NOVEMBER 21
Of course you don’t lose your cool. But your very demeanour (manner) projects haughtiness (arrogance, pride), pride and grand disdain (disregard) for lesser mortals (human). Others are often found saying that anger sits on your nose and you are raring to give your piece mind to the first person that try to be funny with you. You are selective in the choice of your friends, and have a low tolerance for the superfluous (extra) types. Your tongue-lashing (attack) is generally in a soft hissing tone for when you scream, your voice tends to get shrill and loud and you do hate drawing attention to yourself! When upset, you are angrier with yourself for having shown weakness, for the last thing that Scorpio wants to show is being out of control.
SAGITTARIUS NOVEMBER 22 – DECEMBER 20
You are insensible and generally have no complete control over your emotions. You do get angry quickly and others marvel at your anger levels even when provoked. Actually, you get tongue-tied when angry and you will remove your anger waiting for the other person to calm down. Then you will reason with your opponent and convince the other person in a very gentle manner that the whole thing was just his mistake. You’re also likely to totally sever ties with someone when you’re upset with them.
CAPRICORN DECEMBER 21 – JANUARY 19
Few will believe that a hardcore practical and materialistic person like you is capable of sensitivity and genuine emotions. You project a hard exterior but are actually very sensitive, a trait you successfully hide from others. You can see thing with anger but will not betray your feelings. But then, there are times that even you cannot control your temper. Under such circumstances you can shout and scream, more with frustration at the situation than with anger at any particular person. Your outbursts can shock others and can make them feel guilty too.
AQUARIUS JANUARY 20 – FEBRUARY 18
You are noble and kind and dislike losing control over your emotions. It is very rare for you to get angry. You are also the pacifier in situations that involve arguments. It is always your endeavor to be perfect and socially correct in your behavior and attitude, but if misunderstood and slighted you can give in to an angry outburst. You will shout and scream and then walk out from the scene. You cannot easily forget the situation and will be bitter about it for a long time.
PISCES FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20
The only thing that can be said about you dreamers is that you appear even more attractive when angry. You are very sensitive to others’ feelings, so you rarely hurt them. But when others tend to hurt you, then things take a nasty turn. You will yell and use harsh words and feel inclined to shake everything and everyone up. Your creative imagination is at its best when angry, and you tend to get pretty dramatic. When upset, you refuse to listen to reason and wish to be left alone. But once you calm down, you repent your tantrums and seek forgiveness. SO nobody can be upset with you for too long.

I won't be left on the shelf! er... at least i hope so...
my colleague of less than 2 weeks (A GUY) just encouraged me to go for SDU outings. and to go for SDU outings with a guy who goes to SDU outings. luckily i found out that the colleague is already attached. kind of freaky, dun u think? anyway, do colleagues go ard asking new colleagues to join SDU activities? although some of the SDU activities sound fun, i really dun think i would wanna go w a guy i only had lunch w once.
then on my way home tonite, bumped into my brother's fren's aunt (note: childhood fren, i noe the guy too). she was ecstatic to hear that i was still single. i think she said something like telling my bro's fren's mum that i'm still single. and said something along the line of "you should get together w him! would make a great couple! both of u so guai1..."
frankly, i really do make a sucky gf. why's everyone so concerned that i'm single?

Long awaited Episode XI!
Update: the 3 gals are all in college... well... they WERE in college for the whole of today.
Susan - black hair, Ms Fortune
Gabi - blonde, Ms Popular
Bree - orange hair, Family Girl
They all studied different majors, although i don't remember which ones cos i just threw dice and tikam tikam. I think Bree is in pol science, which is what her grandma Angela did! Remember Mr Jones? Yes yes, the prof whom Angela was dating in Uni but dumped for Dominique and i was hoping to matchmake him with Lynette (angela's daughter) but they had a falling out and she married Ray Trottier instead? Black hair, tan guy... Well... he's Bree's professor now, and they fell in love and she wanted to get engaged to him... so they did!!! So Bree, the youngest of the lot decided on her guy first! She still wishes that her first love George could join her in college, but alas, it is not to be...
Gabi the blonde wants to have 10 best friends! sorry... but looking at how crowded her family is, i really don't think she can manage 10 best friends. So Gabi had already gotten to know Mitch, the Fireman. How? well... let's just say SOMEONE left some food on the stove for too long and a Knight in Red armour came to her rescue. =P Seeing her younger sis getting engaged so quickly made Ms Popular panic, so she got engaged to Mitch. Oh joy! I heard he's a family man so they should be happy together!
Susan... all she thinks of is to sell masterpieces, which are worth between 550- 607 simoleons. Yes, that's the Sims currency. Not dollars, not cents, but simoleons. I was starting to get worried about her. Her social circle is SOOOO limited being the money-minded gal that she is. Cute guys already taken - the Fireman, the young prof... She couldn't get hold of the manservant (i think they're short in supply - i keep getting Lucy or Kayleen, the well endowed French maids). The repairman is too old, the bartender... well... erms... AND THEN I REMEMBERED THE GARDENER! well... she wanted flowers and shrubs anyway. turns out that the garderner Leo is quite the cutie. In my personal opinion, the cutest of the lot and my sis was wondering, "what's a farmer doing here?" lol...
So they all got engaged AND graduated! Bree WANTS to throw a wedding party = she wants to get married! Susan wants to get into a CRIMINAL career *gasps*. Crime really doesn't pay, Ms Fortune. She also wants to marry a rich sim, but i don't think the gardener makes much. Gabi... like her gramps, wants to serve the country - it's military or police for her. i wonder... if Gabi becomes a cop, and Susie becomes a criminal, will they end up in conflict? *gasps*
------------------------------
Does Prof Jones still love Angela? Does Angela still love Prof Jones? Can Bree be happy with her grandma's ex? Will Grampa Dominique get pissed off? WILL SUSAN DUMP LEO FOR A RICH GUY??? WILL SUSAN AND GABI FACE OFF?!?! Tune in next Sunday night for the next exciting episode of...

First Day at Work Report.
8 of us started work today. 5 FSOs, 2 Communications officers and 1 girl from AGD. VOC should have switched jobs earlier! then can join me! of the 8 of us, the 2 comm officers, AGD girl and one FSO were making early/mid-career changes. So left us 4 fresh grads. The training room was set up with tables for 4, so we formed the "freshies" table while the career change ppl sat at the other table. So there was this guy from sociology who applied for the job last nov and got offered the job in jan! and got a scholar too who turned out to be the soci guy's pri 4 classmate!
One of the freshies looked quite cute and turned out to be Aki's schoolmate!
AC: "Oh... i'm from RE."
Me: "OOH! then do u know Aki?"
AC: "THAT SUPER SMART GIRL AH? WHO DUNNO?"
so i msged Aki, who said she agar agar noe who he is and asked me to say "Hi" to him for her, to which he replied "WAH! constant reporting ah?" lol... anyway, he has braces too! I won't be the only freshie who needs to take time off for dental appt. =) All the FSOs are in different depts, i'm the only one in a functional dept. the other 4 are going to political depts...
Lots of talks. The security head was very strict. must be careful when i start work! My pass photo very ugly. but expected. totally not photogenic. the Library head was very funny and kept emphasising that he/the library is there to help us so we must feel free to utilise it. Lunch sucked. We're gonna venture out to Tanglin Mall tmr.
While talking to the other guys, found out that for the interview, we were interviewed by the heads of the depts that were likely to take us in. Wow... so from the 2nd round they already had an idea of where to send us i guess.
Had an informal session with the director of HR. He said something like "some of u might be asking yourselves 'why never get into HR?' " (in ref to him being a nice guy i guess) and was looking at me. dunno if cos i almost ended up in HR or cos he was sitting directly opposite me so he was looking at me when he said that.
We had early dismissal! left work at 430 today! but Aki's schoolmate was asked to attend a dept farewell party for the guy he was replacing so he had to stay back. =P
tmr's another day of briefing... then will get to go to our dept at the end of the day. Heard that the ppl in my dept are quite nice... let's see tmr! =)

Death becomes her.
However, 群众要求, Lynette resurrected Angela by making a call to Mr Reaper, offering $10k (if too little, Mr Reaper not happy = Angela becomes a zombie). She remembers all her relationships, except to D's! So have to make them fall in love all over again.

However, since D is just 1 day younger than A, Mr Reaper came again with his entourage to bring D on his holiday.

So in the spirit of finding out whether resurrected beings can get married again, Angela resurrected D to 再续情缘. Already set up the altar, just waiting for them to 培养感情。
Anyway, update on the rest of the family:
Ray and Lynette are now elderly people and have thus reached menopause. NO MORE BABIES FOR RAY! they are older than their parents now, since the parents were resurrected at age 54 but R&L are now 58 or so.
Susan has gone off to college. Her ambition is to have fame and Fortune.
Gabi is trying to score more scholarships before she goes to college. In the meantime, her relationship w Bree isn't very good so trying to get them involved in more group activities. Her ambition is to be Popular
Bree is now a teenager. got into private school like her two older sisters. Her ambition is to have a Family.
----------------------
Will D&A get married again? Will Gabi and Bree fall out? Will anyone want to resurrect R&L when they die eventually? FIND OUT MORE in the NEXT EXCITING EPISODE OF "FAIRVIEW AFFAIRS"!

Tai-Tai Day
WANKO:
Went shopping w Aki and Spinky today. While Spinky was home making rice dumplings, Aki and I bought the same tops at Wanko. We also noted that the shirts there are quite nice and fitting! Given that Wanko has 50% or buy 1 get 1 free sales ever so often, we might go there more frequently. =)
MATCH:
While I tried and subsequently bought a sleeveless top from Match, Aki went to do her big business. Really wanted an opinion on it before i bought it but i think it's the best buy (top) i made today. =) only $16.50! cos half-price... Waited outside Dano for a while and got bumped into one of 3 ang mohs. -_- sheesh. At some pt in time, we concluded that i look like the tai tai and Aki looked like my maid. =P
DANO:
Dano also had some nice tops! but i resisted buying another striped short sleeved top (which Aki wanted to buy n we would hence have 3 tops that are of same design, of which 2 are exact same colour). As the discount was only valid for 2 or more purchase, Aki decided to wait for Spinky to come, and brainwash her into buying clothes there.
Lunch! KFC! So long never eat there!!!
Post lunch: Met Spinky in front of Dano and got her to try some clothes which ultimately, were too big for her cos her frame is very small. In the end, I bought the black top that Spinky TRIED ON (resembles Ms Dreamer's style). haha... anyway, we got additional 10% discount cos Aki used her debit card! Woohoo! Then we went Novo to see shoes. Cos i had saw one earlier and was very tempted to buy. But at $39, the flat half covered, pointy shoes looked more casual than formal so i decided to just buy a pair of court shoes next time.
Back to WANKO:
Then we brought Spinky to Wanko to convince her to buy the top that we had bought but it was too big for her too. (there goes any chance of the 3 of us wearing the same shirts out. =P ) But she tried this short sleeved green shirt which fitted much better! SO TEMPTED TO BUY! ONLY $19.90!!! Had to quickly get out of the shop to resist buying. haha...
Back to IORA:
Then we showed Spinky the nice top we saw at Iora. I still think it's very nice!!! But very ex cos no sale. =( $36! Hope for sales next time then go buy... So anyone who see Iora sale must tell me!!!
U2:
Passed by U2 which we went in cos Jac didn't mind going to try this top that she liked. At first we thought no discount but it was 30% off. We flipped thru some clothes that were stacked across the bottom of the shelf and picked out a short sleeved one but was a bit too colourful. Aki and I bought spaghettis: me Blue&W, Aki B&W. More clothes of the same design!!!
So we managed to spend more than $150 altogether so we got a free tote bag while Spinky bumped into and talked to her ex-classmates. Next stop: Facial. Alright lar... but i still think my sis's facial place was better.
ROBINSONS:
Aki and Spinky looked at shoes while i sat down cos of my aching feet. Aki and I needed makeup but didn't know which shade was more suitable for us. Thus, we went to the Loreal counter at Robinsons, noted what stuff was suitable for us, and decided to come back and buy mascara.
Good offers at Guardian! 20% off! bought some skincare.
Back to Robinsons:
We were tempted to buy eye shadow! haha... 2 for $14.90! after vigourous application and rubbing on our hands (courtesy of Spinky), we ended up buying the same colour! haha... Spinky bought 2 for herself. Then i remarked that i forgot to buy makeup remover and the counter girl said "makeup remover? now got promo: buy 2 get 1 free" to which Spinky and I decided to SAPU!!! haha...
Really 满载而归!
Summary of what i bought:
- Wanko shirt: $34.50
- Match sleeveless top: $16.50
- Dano short sleeves shirt: $28
- U2 spaghettis: $19.50
- Moisturizer: $16.90
- Foundation (Sheer cashmere - don't need to powder!): $23
- Mascara and eyeshadow: $18.35
- Makeup remover (Gentle cleansing milk): $10.10
