any of u singles out there hit by v-day blues?

realised that when you're younger, you tend to be more impulsive with certain things... like going up to a person to tell him/her that you like him/her. And then you may get rejected, cry over it for a while and perhaps take months or even years to get over it. but when you get older, people seem to be more shy and attempt the question differently: i would like to get to know you better. How romantic. But romanticism seems to have died out? or it has become a show of ego (refer to ST article on valentine's day roses to the office).

You dream of having a romantic relationship... and find that you might just have to settle for something less. One that is more down-to-earth, a meeting of minds, the baring of souls... without all the hooha. ATTEMPTED that but didn't work. No chemistry.

How well should you know the target of your love before you approach him/her for a date or declare your affections? I know people who want to exchange numbers after 1 meeting. Their courage is admirable...

There my sister is... comforting her friend who seems to have gotten dumped. So strange... my sis seems to be quite the relationship counsellor. LOL She says she hardly ever sees couples remaining friends after a breakup. How true is that? someone asked me that yesterday... depends on your level of commitment to each other? Somewhere out there some girl is crying her eyes out and not knowing what to do. Been there, done that.

Love is such a difficult game to play. And yet to win, will give you a life of blissfulness and happiness... and so we learn to take risks and bear with the heartaches...

And so i end, with the lyrics of "getting to know you" from "the king and i" and hope that everyone around me will find their sweethearts when they want to... =)
